Loved hearing his voice of reason throughout all the bullshit in today's world. Didn't always agree with him, but he could definitely make me think about things differently than I would have on my own. Going to miss the guy.

As a kid in California I always heard media and people make fun of him as some foolish loser. Then one day I'm scrolling through the radio in the middle of nowhere, maybe even AM and I land on this interesting voice. He says a lot of interesting things in a logical way. 3-4 minutes in I realize I'm listening to Rush. I had no idea. Ever since then I listened every now and then and was always impressed. The brainwashing starts young.

Of course, this goes against what the CDC, American Lung Association , American Cancer Society, and countless other scientific institutions say. But it's all a conspiracy and Rush knows best, right?

I'm all for people exercising their rights. The government shouldn't be able to stop you from enjoying a cigarette.

But Rush Limbaugh shouldn't blatantly lie on air to his millions of listeners and spread harmful misinformation that could lead to health problems (e.g. a parent listening to him and then smoking in the car with their children because they now believe it's safe).

Rush is also the "American patriot" that aired the blatantly racist song about Barack Obama, titled: "Barack the Magic Negro".

He will not be remembered fondly by posterity, if at all.

For work, I have to do a lot of traveling through very rural areas, and I've made more than a few long distance trips. I don't have satellite radio. The two radio programs I've been able to pick up anywhere are ESPN sports radio and Rush. That goes to show how popular the man was.

I didn't listen to him all that much, and I didn't agree with everything he said. One thing I give him credit for, he was the first person with a high public profile I'm aware of that wasn't shy about chopping into the left's sacred cows. He openly mocked some of the ridiculous crap that the political left came up with and didn't care that he would be shredded by, in his words, the lame-stream media. He generated a lot of hate, mainly because so many left-leaning "reporters" couldn't match his popularity.

The left is celebrating his death because they couldn't find a way to deal with him when he was alive.
