Don't buy that book.

Rollo tomassi simply commercialized what he found on redpill content on the internet and put it in a "book".

It's like reading that water is wet.

Also Rollo despise MGTOW because he's one of the many PUAs disguised as "redpill", since PUA had to rebrand itself due to women accusing of sexual harassment any ugly man trying to hit on them for training. Even some PUAs masters ended in jail because they hit on picky women...

Redpill and mgtow have in common the idea of self improving, but differ on the goal of it. Redpill use this to gain sex market value and have more women (aka "spinning plates") while MGTOW rejects playing the dating game because it's still a scam (aka "the only right move is not to play").

Rollo Tomassi is firmly in the camp of “Women are accessories to men once you learn how to wield them” and is strongly against the idea of “abandoning” women. He surrounds himself with likeminded men (all red-pilled) so that he never has to argue for his point. Nothing against that side of TRP but in my opinion it’s like having a venomous snake for a pet, sure you can defang it/ maintain it so that it doesn’t ruin your life even though that’s what its existence/the world environment had made it is very capable of doing. It looks cool, and handling snakes (spinning plates or having/making a “good woman”) is awesome but they’re all pissy at MGTOW for just not dealing with the risk in the first place and putting our time and energy into other pursuits.

They call themselves “Alpha Males” but they care so much about proving it that they very quickly and very easily slip back into the trap of “keeping up with the Jones’s”.

MGTOW is always going to be a target for the “mainstream” paths, but they do offer some meaningful advice on handling wealth/building up a portfolio/mindset their reasons/motivations for doing it are just a tad screwy.

Rollo Tomassi’s first book “The Rational Male” is an excellent first step into TRP, but that’s where I’d end the perusing into his works. The rest of his books are basically “how to decode women” and “how to maintain an Alpha frame to attract women”. It’d be better for you to read Aaron Clarey’s “Bachelor Pad Economics” and “Poor Richard’s Retirement” for strong financial/life advice that isn’t centered around “becoming the most Alpha so your opportunities can be limitless”.

Either way GYOW means you choose what road you wish to travel and how you wish to travel it, I personally pick and choose from all sides of the Manosphere and adopt what I see has value for me and stew on what doesn’t. I don’t need women in my life, I don’t want the risk of modern harpies in my career, and I want my mark on the world to be what defines me for the next generation. Maybe some years down the line I will want an heir/children to pass on a legacy to but that bridge is so far down the line that I barely if ever think about it.

He has quality content and it’s worth reading about for sure. As far as his views on MGTOW, because he is a salesman, he cannot give the same level of quality thought to MGTOW philosophy as he does his own; I.e. his philosophy has to have all the answers so he can sell it, and any other form of thought in the same space (like MGTOW) he will not give as thorough of a response to. At least he gives the MGTOW philosophy it’s dues by saying that MGTOW correctly diagnoses the situation from a behavioral/biological perspective. But he stops there, pays attention only to the youngins who are still in the red-pill-rage stage, and then proceeds to misrepresent MGTOW. I do not think he has a particularly firm grasp on what MGTOW truly is, but that’s understandable, as he’s coming at it from his own perspective that’s mixed with getting sales. Still, worth taking the time to look at his content for sure, he has invaluable insights. Hope this helps.

I like his stuff, but he got a lot of it from PUA. I'd say he is much more PUA focused as is TRP with all their plat spinning and eventually even marriage. It's like a more based PUA, but honestly, nothing beats MGTOW

Rollo's first book is, from everything I've heard, a must-read. Or, alternatively, he has stated that you could just read his blog since the book material is just a condensed version of his normal blog topics. I have chosen the blog route to save myself money.

Rollo has stated that he agrees with MGTOW on the analysis of what is happening on society but simply disagrees with the prescription we offer (ironically, there is a lot of overlap between our prescriptions, but he doesn't see that I guess). Apparently a lot of MGTOW have been bothering many red pillers who are still focused on women.

I like watching a lot of Rollo's older stuff, and every now and then he posts newer stuff that is good, but he is very focused on MGTOW right now as a foil, as are other red pill content creators who also have good content.

I would encourage you to read some blog posts (this way it costs you nothing) and decide for yourself if his work brings value to your life. Also, PLEASE do not fall into tribalism at the expense if improving your life. Most of the old timers in the manosphere do have something to offer in terms of knowledge or perspective, even PUAs, MRAs, and many tradcons.

Even Joker from Better Bachelor has recommended Rollo even though Rollo has dissed him, which is just one reason why I love Joker's stuff.

Lastly, Rollo has stated he cannot recommend modern marriage and he does not advise men to do it in America. He is, however, married with an adult daughter. To me, he seems like a pretty cool guy who is simply a bit out of touch with the world. No reason to hate on him; just understand that he is from a different generation with different experiences

Rollo is an entrepreneur, even if he fully agreed with the MGTOW philosophy it defeats the purpose of his business model. It would make zero financial sense for him to embrace it. PUA (the practice of imitating a man who has options) gives some men the feeling of having control over their lives when it comes to dealing with women. However, no man is a bigger "alpha" than daddy government.

Women aren't stupid when it comes to sniffing out men pretending they're something they aren't. Most men can't keep up this act or it will slip because, again, it isn't genuine. It's a conscious effort to cover up insecurity. Not to mention, even the so called alphas get cheated on and screwed over because of existing laws and culture (particularly westernized countries).

Rollo has a market and he's not giving that up to spread the truth. There's no money in that.

TFM debated those guys. Think he pretty much won this conversation. Red pillers are still gynocentric and they don't even realize it. There whole thought process about self improvement and learning how women think is to get female validation and sex. Mgtow men don't give a fuck about that stuff. We make our own rules. Live life on our own terms and could care less about female validation.

If you are talking about "The Rational Male" books, I've read quite a bit of those, and here's the value that I found in those books:

Basically, the online men's community had been evolving for years before I noticed it. I didn't have much clue about what they all were talking about. Someone mentioned "The Rational Male," and I read quite a bit of it.

The value was, it got me caught up to what all these guys in the men's community were talking about.

A lot of the stuff in the book explained pretty much my (mostly) unsuccessful dating experiences, when mainstream dating books did not.

I don't remember the books being MGTOW books much at all, so it wouldn't surprise me if he is in fact against MGTOW now.

But you can be MGTOW and still get something out of his books. So, for me, even IF the dating advice in those books worked 100%, my conclusion was that I would be basically arranging all of my free time, and a whole lot of my direction in life, around dating -- all to probably still do worse at it than a guy who is naturally attractive to women. That was valuable in pushing me toward a MGTOW direction.

You can read the books and see just how badly the dating system treats everyday guys -- and how much work it is to improve, even if the books are 100% correct. I'm just like, I'm not giving up everything I enjoy to not even do as well as some random guy who doesn't have to do much at all, who just happens to have the right qualities naturally.

So, to me, that's the value of those books.
