I wouldn't NECESSARILY say that she got offended but the "I would so do that if she was a boy but she's a girl", rather than "She's a girl". I feel like she cared too much about dog semantics. Not to mention, my comment is just in general; some people really get offended by people calling their dog by the wrong gender, "Who's a good boy?", "Um, she's a girl...?", "Ok, why'd you tell me as if that's just a fact that everyone should know"

I hate finding out a chick has a big dog. I remember this one apartment complex I lived in after college.
There was this cute girl who would walk her giant dog every day out in the courtyard. You could tell they were really close, she loved him.
Well the day she moved out I went walking in the courtyard to see what was going on down the block.
As I passed her apartment I gagged. There were pikes of dog shit all over her living room. At least 15 piles of big dog logs. She was living in that filth.
From that day on it always weirds me out when a girl says she has a dog. My Gag reflex instantly becomes locked and loaded.

Oh god, thank you for posting this. I thought I was the only one. My friends think I have some kind of issue when I tell them that I'm disgusted and repulsed by chicks who have dogs.
Nothing kills my boner for a hot chick faster than seeing her pick up her dog's shit with a plastic bag. Not to mention living with an animal that rubs its asshole on the carpet, stinks unless bathed regularly and leaves hair everywhere. Disgusting.
I actually dumped an otherwise good girl solely on this account. No thanks.
(Cats aren't much better, but at least they're cleaner. Still, I think it's unnatural to share your living space with an animal. They are meant to be outside.)

They want a man that can break them into submission but will do anything to protect them. From the females standpoint its hard to do because without a tribe/father/brother to test out the protective instincts of potential mates she has resorted to this bipolar psychology of consistently trying to test potential suitors followed by batting her eyelashes at them and asking they could "pwetty pwees" do as she says.
Our evolutionary psychology is deeply entwined with tribal/family relationships. Notice that the strongest/richest families still follow the old way. I.e. don't get married for love, don't let petty squabbles breakup the family, vet any newcomers into the tribe with a fine tooth comb, hold by a code of conduct that all members of the family/tribe will be held to (it can be a religious or moral codex).

I am with you on this on. This seems a case of misunderstanding by both parties. The girl was not hostile she just corrected the other persons assumption that the dog was male. Nothing wrong with that. The other person (I assume a male) then started overcompensating by making a "funny" reference to the pay gap between men and women......lame. If I still cared and assuming this is a dating app this conversation for me could have gone 2 ways:
A) the nice guy scenario:
Me: Tell your dog that he is a good boy for me please
She: I would so do that if she was a boy but she's a girl
Me: Ah....so you 2 are exactly alike
She: What do you mean?
