Instead of bribing her to stop being mad at you, how about you treat her like an adult and talk to her? Tell her you want to know why she's upset. Don't reward bad behavior by trying appease her every time she's mad at you for "some reason."

What a dummy. By rewarding her for being mad, she will always be mad at him for the flimsiest reasons. If he was truly at fault, he should just apologize. If she easily accepts his apology, that's when he can make this kind of gesture.

I pissed her off royally. When I asked her if she was mad and she said "NO!" (clearly mad) I told her "Alright, well if you don't tell me why you're mad, then you're a liar, and I can't trust you anymore." Hell of an argument ensued, but she stopped playing that game. Didn't stop me from divorcing her, though.

Of course she’s only going to get worse. That’s how abuse escalates. First they get angry at you for something you supposedly did but refuse to tell you the reason. So you try to ‘act better’ hoping it’ll calm them but little do you know they take it as ammunition that this sort of behavior is acceptable. Chances are she’ll soon start crossing social lines and boundaries just to see what else she can get away with.
