laughable.
A MGTOW is concerned about the rights of individuals who voluntarily participate in society. MGTOWS do not want a communist government telling them what to do and how to do it. We are free willed by nature, sir.

too bad he deleted the post, but the guy was saying we all should be communists.

Communism forgets that life is individual. Capitalism forgets that life is social, and the kingdom of brotherhood is found neither in the thesis of communism nor the antithesis of capitalism but in a higher synthesis. It is found in a higher synthesis that combines the truths of both. ~ Martin Luther King Jr.

And next: you should follow the religion that I follow. Stay tuned.
OR:
Something something something revolution. Something something something wage slavery.
"When all you have is a hammer, all problems looks like a nail."
EDIT: I look forward for a long reply from a certain user. I will put popcorn in the microwave. I really mean it.
EDIT 2: a communist deleting his own support for communism. Why am I not surprised.

Communism is only concerned with eliminating the exploitation of the working class and establishing common ownership of the means of production. The working class wins in communism, while the exploiters(capitalists) lose. You can do as you wish in a communist society, as long as you're not an enemy of the working class.

To start off, I am an ardent communist. Contrary to popular beliefs, I don't support totalitarianism and mass murder,
Well I strictly adhere to the political tenants of German national socialism. Contrary to popular belief, however I do not also support the extermination of Jews.

Logic
Absolute state control = Totalitarianism
Communism = Absolute state control
Therefore: Communism = Totalitarianism

A communist government only seeks to ensure that the working class is not being exploited by capitalists. The only people who should fear communism are people who wish to exploit the working class.

Not for me thanks, I don't want The Government or Woman telling me what to do, or where to live. MGTOW's require the option to walk away, that is something that Communism does not allow. Also, Communism requires male servitude, and that is kinda of a big deal around here.

Capitalism forces people to earn money in order to survive.
True point.
Not only that, but it reinforces the idea that more money = better.
Not true point.
Your issue, and the issue of many communists, is that your bunch often makes logical leap that a capitalist structure will inherently construct a certain social consciousness/culture. This is wrong. For many reasons. I can offer you one: the fact that religion can exist within a capitalist structure. What I mean by this is that capitalism does not contradict freedom of religion, and religious ideology often prioritizes the goals of the spiritual over the goals of the secular. So, for example, in western society you see many segments of the population that are super-religious not really caring about making the most amount of money. Think Amish communities, Quakers, etc. In the East, you have (to this day) aesthetic monks and the like who are totally accepted even with the fact that they live in a country that is capitalist (India and other places).
American culture itself has propagated the idea that more money=better life for sure, but this came out of our history where we 1. Had settlers who literally came here JUST for economic reasons and 2. Had events such as the gold rush that helped construct this idea of the "American Dream" (which still links into 1 as well). It is the culmination of these events that led us to where we are but this is inherent in all capitalist countries. For example, in Japan (which is as capitalist as the US) because of the events of their history they have a culture where being a "salary man" is the ideal. The "salary man" isn't about being the richest of them all, but rather being a man with a stable job fulfilling his familial duty of providing for his family. This does link into your point that capitalism forces people to earn money to survive but you can clearly see in this case that maximizing money isn't really a part of the ideal for your average Japanese man.
I may be Libertarian but I don't disagree with your argument because you are communist. Many libertarians make the same sort of argument that "If we have total liberty, people will value X". I always disagree with those arguments too. Culture is way too fluid and constantly changing that you can't say that one particular thing will always cause a culture to be a certain way. Culture is born out of a constant flux of events that aren't always fundamentally connected.

The fundamental problem i see with Communism is that it is massive unchecked, centralized state power and state economic planning. At least in a capitalist society you have the private sector and wealthy industrialists pushing back against he state. Every example I have seen of the state, any state having more power usually means things are more than likely to be worse than they otherwise would be. The largest and most depraved genocides in human history were perpetrated by Communists and were the result of callous indifference and incompetence. Their production planning was terrible and people simply starved to death by the tens of millions in Asia because of it.

It's not the wealthy who push back against the state, it's civil society, the problem is over the past thirty years community and civil society have been in decline. The civil state is a check on the corporate and political state.
Phillip Blond has written on this,
The great error of the last 50 years is that conservatives think that they should unthinkingly endorse laissez -faire economics, but as presently conceived the free market destroys most of the things conservatives value; it destroys traditions, family life, societies, cultures, and established ways of doing things. The market place, as understood by contemporary neo-liberalism, is something no genuine conservative should support or endorse. The welfare state disempowered working class people people by taking away their ability to self-organise, by taking away their ability to work with each other. It atomised working class communities and also prevented innovation and aspiration for those at the bottom. Both the unlimited state and the unrestrained market have destroyed civil society, which is our world. … Civil society is something that is not the state or the market. Civil society is the world of you and I.[1] Without civil intervention the free market tends to monopoly. What we should do is try to restore a truly free market, try to restore a market where there are no barriers to access and people have something other than their labour which they can trade or exchange..[1] I believe in markets, but I don't believe in markets understood as private monopolies. I believe in open global, national and regional civic markets. If everybody owns and trades, and there wasn't just an exclusive, dispossessed class, there wouldn't be a radically insecure bottom twenty or thirty percent of society that causes problems for everybody else.[1]

And why do you think civil society is on the decline?
[–]CyLoke1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
One real good summary of it is Robert Putnam's book Bowling Alone, goes over a lot of statistical details. Whether it be the decline of team bowling, fraternal organizations or volunteering he tracks the change over the last thirty years coinciding with the raise of Neoliberalism and hyper individualism.
[–]soliloquay 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes, and companies like Walmart telling people during orientation to report on anyone trying to unionize.
[–]mr_buffalo2 points 10 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
There needs to be better balance. It takes about 9 years to get a national union legally recognized by the federal government.
[–]Berend091 point 10 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
Civil intervention can also create monopolies and increase barriers of entry for competition. Large corporations prefer a large centralized government where they are able to reduce risk through lobbying and back room deals.

Yeah but it is true that most of those systems of communism were warped branches of the main ideology. Communism that is closest to Marx actually does advocate for anarchy (look at something called anarcho-syndicalism). The one thing I think communism will never overcome is the free-rider problem. There is just zero incentive to innovate in an ideal communist world. If all of your needs are provided for, why not just sit on your ass all day? I also think communism lends itself to a lack of freedom, but that is more my personal gripe.
[–]threestagepipeline 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Back in university, I self-proclaimed as a communist, but then I realized I only liked the ideal of communism and it would never work in our world.
By eliminating monetary incentives, people will become lazy. And carrying around dead weight is not in my opinion what's good for society.
People will adapt to whatever circumstances they find themselves in. And those that don't die off.
[–]emotionalgoldmine[S] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
The amount of work that would need to be done in a communist society would be greatly reduced. Many pointless "white collar" jobs that only serve to drive capitalism will be gone. Work would only be done to satisfy human needs and wants, not to satisfy a profit motive. And if people get lazy, who gives a shit? The goal of communism is not to get people to work, it's to prevent the workers from being exploited.
[–]threestagepipeline 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
The very fact that not everyone would be working is exploiting the ones who are working. The non-workers just sit back and the workers will make sure they're taken care of because it's built into the society.
[–]emotionalgoldmine[S] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
There wouldn't be enough jobs for people to do. In a communist system, we won't need accountants, bankers, stock brokers, real estate agents, marketers, salesmen, retail workers, financial advisers, and most lawyers, just to name a few. Work would be done purely for the benefit of society, not for financial gain. The workers would not be exploited since they will have collective control over the means of production. In a capitalist system, the shareholders can sit back and profit off of the people who do the actual work.
[–]threestagepipeline 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Work would be done purely for the benefit of society, not for financial gain.
And since there wouldn't be enough jobs for people to do, by default the non-workers are exploiting the ones who are working. If you have 2 people, and there's a task that benefits them both, but only requires 1 person, the 1 person who doesn't do the task is exploiting the other person. They're receiving the benefits for doing absolutely nothing. The only way to prevent the exploitation is by making them both work.
