I uninstalled Chrome a few days ago and started using Brave Browser with Startpage as my home page. I like how Brave has a Tor option built in so I can get to sites blocked by my ISP without using proxies or VPN's.

google is also the search engine who's page always features a 300 year old 'heroic' and 'progressive' woman who did literally nothing. It's always about some writer or painter who is so UN-famous, that they have to be put on the main page of google to be noticed.

The shit that happens on the internet now is fucking insane.. I looked up a certain indoor trampoline business and once I found the name on Google (using my phone) I clicked on a YouTube video on my laptop and have been bombarded with ads by that business since... Like what.... The... Fuck... This was 2 minutes after finding out the name... Shits crazy and I don't like it.

startpage.com has better behavior than duckduck imo. You can scroll the page down with a cursor key on startpage.

Yup. Same with YouTube who have the same parent company. These fuckers are also recording and profiling everything you see and do.

You can still use them, but keep it for normie shit only. For anything remotely important, you need to be taking action to anonymise yourself. Disposable email addresses, VPNs, and privacy-conscious alternatives like duckduckgo.

It might seem like a hassle now, but the way things are going, in 10 years time I think you'll be glad you did.

I know I'm gonna get flack about this, but idc: It really depends on your search habits and history trail. ESPECIALLY if you're using other Google services. I tried the same thing OP did and got mgtow.com first, wikipedia second, followed by urban dictionary. The Vice article (haven't read it) appears wayyy down the page (it is on first page because of relevance, not biased by how much you or I may dislike it.)

P.S. Use whatever makes you feel good, I guess, as performance and experience will vary from person to person.
