French women during WW2 slept with the bad-boy Nazis while 2 million French men were in prisoner of war camps.
There was outrage when the women got stripped, shaved bald, oiled, feathered and made do Nazi salutes in the streets when the war ended.
The men who ran away from war? Shamed. Even a lot of their own mothers disowned them.
Moral of the story: "You did what gou needed to do" and sympathy in general only applies to women or children. You will never truly get the sympathy that you deserve as a man, because you are expected to take it.
And don't forget - Women are stronger than men and have a much better mentality than them.
