men are utilitarian. i buy things that are useful to me and keep them as long as they are useful to me. if i put in a lawn i am going to buy a reliable lawnmower but if i replace a lawn with rocks i am going to sell that lawnmower. men built society because it was useful for us, we maintain it now because it was useful for us in the past and we want it to be useful for our children. once it stops being useful for us we will stop maintaining it and it will fall into ruin. if a large percentage of men have no potential for a mate or family those men will not contribute to the building or maintaining of society. if 60% of men have no use for society the population will have a work force 60% smaller. the tax base shrinks and you have no money for social programs and law enforcement. with out a cop providing you with muscle lets just say it will not be men living in fear. if men walk away then society rots an we will see how unwilling women are to have sex for protection and resources. willingness is your choice to make hunger and fear just make the choice easier to rationalize.

live at home with parents
