This whole thing characterizes the baby boomers perfectly. no, no, SOME millennials (guess which gender) don't believe in adulthood before 30. As a millennialm I have never never never seen a man espouse this term. Every male I know within my age group has had a job and paid some kind of bill off on their own, and they all have a stash of money for themselves that no one else provides.

Humans aren't mentally mature until 25. Until you personally hit that new plateau there's no way you can honestly call yourself an adult. I'm ages past when rights of manhood started at 14yo people were kidding themselves and we're acknowledging that life was maybe a half or a third over by then.

I think financial security is the key to adulthood. That can't happen by 25 now. Most just graduate college then. The lightning fast graduates that get out by 21 did so by majoring in jobless fields. The doctors and lawyers and people that get advanced degrees aren't out of school until late 20s at the earliest.

The job and school market just suck right now compared to the past. It's not our fault, we just have to deal with it.

In retrospect I understand the notion, the average age in Sweden for example for most people born between 1980 to 1995, especially 1990-1995, one gets "established" in the work market is around the age of 30. And that's for those whom staked out their careers early on.

While im persuming girls born in the "millenial span" can afford to flaunt out the party-behaviour longer, since it is commonplace that if they cannot settle themselves, they just partner up with some dude at his place, while he pays for everything.

Okay so now child and adulthood are social constructs and I can feel like I am a child whenever I want and I am not held responsible for my actions. So basically they want to be strong and independent but without the responsibilities. Well then you be in your bubble of "reality" and no one wants to deal with your shit.

Adults are Adults who do adult things. Owning a home, getting married, and having kids, that's examples of being an adult. Alcohol, sex, and drugs are another examples because for these things, you can't be stupid and not know what you're getting yourself into.
