I’ve had a woman tell me the reason is because STEM workplaces are boys’ clubs and are inhospitable to women (which she would know because she’s never actually been inside one). Like all those spindly, virgin math and computer nerds are so intimidating to strong independent women.

I have a 70k plus OT a year stem job for a woman. It is a 3, 2, 2 , swing schedule.

3 on , 2 off, 2 on , 3 off, 2 on, 2 off. Repeat. 12 hour shifts. Every 3 months switch from days to nights.

I don't know why women don't apply.

lmao so true. A woman was telling me they need more women in STEM, so I asked her what her major was. She said "not in STEM but I have my masters degree." She wouldn't admit in what field.

Her head was so far up her ass that she probably could distinguish if her small intestines smelled better than her colon.

Even if women take a STEM class, they wont put in the time and effort needed to pass.

All they have to do to pass Women's Studies is show up to class more than half of the time and they get an A.

Has anyone tried to A/B test the hiring process of techy/quant jobs for males vs females?

Im currently in between jobs because I had to deal with some personal issues. Im only a few years out of school so my career is really just beginning, but I do have some decent consulting experience, software skills, and a STEM degree (operations management) from a top program. Its been a few months and Im having trouble making it through HR to get interviews for analyst jobs that I know Im qualified for. Im thinking about making a fake LinkedIn profile / resume with similar background/credentials/situation except with a female identity and testing if theres a difference. Wouldnt be surprised if recruiters jumped all over it

Also some LinkedIn job postings have a 'Meet the Team' feature which shows some of the other people in the role youre applying for. Id guess that ~75% of the profiles that show up for the jobs I look at are women. Theyre definitely not unqualified but im applying to quant-type roles that men are supposed to be favored for according to the narrative.
