I actually just had this argument with one of the more frequent posters on here, and is a point of contention with me for lot of the guys. AWALT does not mean every single woman on the planet is evil. It means every woman has their female nature to contend with (as do men, for that matter). The difference is that women have every reason and are even encouraged to indulge in that nature, which makes them a bad gamble. The laws and current political climate make for a potent mix. Even if you found a good one, if she changes her mind at any point she can take you to the cleaners and will be cheered on while she does so. AWALT is a guideline you should remember when your own male nature starts trying to get you to forget why you found this sub to begin with.

Different time period and thus, different societal and cultural rules. Think about it, back then that was the norm and that was what was sought after. Single mothers, whores and promiscuous people were looked down upon and ostracized. Not to forget that towns and villages were smaller, word got around easier and people cared and socialized more with their fellow man.

Look at the cultural and societal shift in the last 50 years, mostly since the 60’s and the “sexual revolution”. This “revolution” was essentially the breaking point where long term commitment was tossed out the window and one night stands became the new sought after ideal. Toss in current age technology that allows meeting and fucking strangers as simple as a swipe, and you’ve got a boiling pot that’s ready to break at any time regarding relationships.

So once again, society and culture set the boundaries. Hell, you can also look at the loss and destruction of the church and many religions. When you remove the possibility of being “judged”, either by an ethereal or mortal being alike, you have a bunch of apes ignoring their mortality and living solely for the sake of their own pleasure. There are no longer any rules and most importantly, no longer any sense of morality or justice. Just a breeding ground of festering degenerates looking for their next high.

There is no hope for a better future.

A few reasons:

You only think they were happy. It is not uncommon for people of a previous generation to be very concerned of any public display of familial problems.
They may have created a marriage that isn't at all like how it started, but it works for everyone and you're not aware of what those changes are.
They got married under gender roles that don't exist any more, so there wasn't pressure to act in ways detrimental to a healthy marriage, and maybe are still operating under those roles that were supported by those around them.
Many are religious being from an older generation and that may be driving them to be better in marriage, or at least make sure their public persona is maintained.
You're seeing them at the end. It's not like you're going to go ride the cock carousel at 75. You may give up on those things after a certain age, there's no benefit to hypergamy or monkey branching at that point.
Older generations believed "'til death do you part". Unlike today, marriage isn't just a more advanced boy or girl friend that is just ended on a whim, but was expected to be a real life changing experience. Today marriage is just an inconvenience and a pension plan.
AWALT isn't any different, she can still decide to divorce rape, but for the above reasons, it may not be worth it. People settle into their lifestyles and just deal with it. I doubt they share their doubt, concerns, fights, adultery, and separations with you.

Squirmy and Grubs.

Ever since i found them accidentally on Youtube ive been questioning the NAWALT.

She could be in it for money and fame... But idk its a longshot in their current aituation.

Still reconciling. Maybe the explanation is were all human so it stands to reason SOME women must be reasonable as some men are.

That opinion would get torn to shreds here however and im still in reconciliation.

Trying to figure it out in my head as well. Hopefully you start digging!

If AWALT, what is the explanation for these happy marriages?

Cultural expectations that a marriage was for life, along with women who were content to let a man take the lead. As our instincts are comfortable with. The combination stabilized relationships in the past - those relations that were formed in that past have largely solidified (successful pair bonding). The boomers were the last generation to hold these values. Whatever comes after GenZ may adopt them once more, after seeing where not doing so will lead you.

It's easy. It was religion. AWALT, but those "fairytales" like some militant atheists like to call them, were the ones that kept that female nature suppressed. Look at the Muslim countries governed by sharia law, you need the testimony of 3 wahmyns to equal the one of a man. I'm not glorifying Islam or religion, but I am just saying that this whole system, was more about existencial questions, but also human nature control.

Now, with religion gone from developed countries, the unicorns went extincted and a new specie took its place, the femiorc. And this is why we are having this discussion in reddit...

Old people are still religious, so they don't care about the Patriarchy, they care about being good wives and taking care of their families like God commands.

Again, organized religion might have its cons and abuses, but it kept the hypergamous female nature suppressed.

Our religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hindusim, etc) are now being replaced by new "religions", feminism, socialism, liberalism, etc.

After my grandfather died, my grandmother never remarried (she was still 40), and always went to his grave to talk with him, give him flowers, clean his tombstone and she talks of the day that she will be reunited with her husband. She still wears her ring after 40 years of being a widow.

Relationships are transactional. There is a price for everything. Society dictates the trends of the "goods and services" within a relationship, and societal trends are not static, but evolve.

The increased use of social media further accelerates the terms and conditions within relationships by augmenting our ability to share and emulate.

Beliefs, moral principles, upbringing. They lived and married in a time when rules and choices mattered. Now, there are no rules for women and their choices don't matter.

We also live in a time where a lot of things that are just plain wrong, or evil, are considered acceptable.

You are witnessing the very destruction of society, at it's basic level. The destruction of the family. The destruction of relationships between men and women.

When men had most of the power, and all the responsibility, society functioned most of the time.

Now that women have most of the power, yet men still shoulder all the responsibility, there is chaos.
