The feminists do not realize that someone else usually gets hired in a temporary position to fill in until the woman comes back. A temporary position should definitely be considered an inferior sort of position compared to her assured job security. Job security for women on maternity leave comes at the expense of someone else's lack of job security/temporary employment status. 'Privileging' mothers on leave 'marginalizes' others not on leave.

I had a coworker that went on paternity leave. Women around the office got pissed off and complained that men shouldn't have that luxury. On yeah, paternity leave is 1 month vs maternity leave which is 3 months.

I'm sure it can vary depending where you are and what job position you have but is mat leave paid by the government or the employer? If it's the employer why in the hell on God's green earth would anyone hire women!!!??

Here in Canada you get a year off which is way too long. At least only a little of it should be paid, not a whole year. A friend's wife was pregnant some years back, she took a year off with paid mat leave and when it finished and was time for her to come back she just quits and hasn't worked or plans to. Seeing that abused like that royally pissed me off.

No bullshit, genuine piece of advice here. If you're now doing somebody else's job in addition to your own, then it's absolutely time for you to sit down with your boss and have a discussion about a corresponding wage increase. If they refuse, go back to exactly the level of productivity you were at before the other person left, and immediately start looking for a new job.
