This shit NEVER made sense to me, even as a teenager I found myself asking this analogy;

"If you like chocolate and everyone is willing to give you chocolate, why would you willingly sign a contract that limits you to one person giving you chocolate but they control 100% of the flow of delivery?"

I used 'chocolate' as an example back then because I learned quickly that people have a gynocentric blindspot. Replace 'relationship' with 'thing' in your argument and most people quickly snap into a rational/logical understanding.
