I use Ecosia as my search engine. It's powered by Bing and every 40-45 searches made by users worldwide pays for one tree planted. Feels a lot better to do that rather than have it go to Google.

This won't work. It costs more than $1 to plant a tree. And that's at high volume, say like 4-5 million over 3 months. Also where would the 20 million trees be planted? What species? Who are they going to get to plant the trees?

I was a treeplanter so I kinda know what I'm talking about.

I’m most concerned about the cost. $1/tree? Seems exceptionally high, having known the financial outlay of tree planting operations in the pulp and paper industries in the past. Seedlings in the millions should cost only a few cents per tree.

I would be most concerned with any administrative overhead that utilizes an unusual proportion of that price.
