It means don't do things just because society teaches you do them. Don't get married unless you have really thought it through and are aware of the possible outcomes. Many of us also don't even spend time with women, as it is inherently dangerous. The government runs a gynocentric society rigged against being male and masculine. MGTOW is about choosing your own path to survival and happiness and not simply following society's teachings blindly.

Imo MGTOW is basically, redpill you against what society teaches you about women, open your eyes and do your own thing. Not having to do something because of other reasons like being a pussy slave, eager to go on the plantation. You do what you want for yourself, you improve yourself for yourself, not for someone else. That's all there is to it imo.
