I'm a millenial.

I'll NEVER get married. I don't need to experience third degree burns, have my face melt into permanent dis-figuration, or be immobile for life to know that fire is bad.

Same for marriage.

Even if the government wasn't planning on garnishing my wages for years in order to support her spending habits when she decides to jump ship, I would still probably refrain because these women have ruined themselves on social media and the current "liberation" movement.

Yeah, sure, the 'economy' is to blame. I'm sure it has nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that millennial women are the nastiest, sketchiest, most hypergamous ham galaxies in the history of civilization and that sixty years of feminism has turned men into weak, effeminate pussies. But no, it's the economy that's done it. /s

While I don't believe MGTOW or other red pill knowledge is responsible, this author doesn't get it. Marriage doesn't mean as much to a generation accustomed to divorce. My friends that have gotten married have done so:

A) because they want kids and there's still a stigma associated with an unmarried couple having kids. Obviously less than there used to be but for middle class to upper middle class people it's still seen as a negative.

B) Because they've been living together for years and got tired of people asking when they were going to make it official

C) one of the partners needs to move for work and, from a blue pill perspective, if you're willing to uproot your life for someone, why wouldn't you be willing to marry them?

It certainly wasn't related to how regulated Uber was in their city.

Part of it is habituation. Our habits define our character, who we are. We become what we do. When people spend their teens and 20s in short term relationships, punctuated by hook ups, one night stand, fwbs, etc, etc, etc, then we cannot be surprised when this pattern hold for the rest of their lives.

Furthermore, look at all the guys that are not part of the top 20%, they have been ignored and marginalized by the sexual marketplace, and have spent their teens and 20s playing games, enjoying pornography and not dating/being single.

There is nothing surprising that we continue the habits we establish during adolescence and our young adult years into the rest of our lives.

Yep. I'm divorced and not going back to sharing the plantation. Especially when the fruits of your labor go to the spouse and you get kicked off the land. Much better to save up for my own and keep all the benefits for myself. Sucks that it's my second time saving up but lessons learned!

The feminists are wishing that is the reason.

Others, like the Religious are hoping it is just waiting longer to get married.

The data is screaming that both are wrong, and when that fact finally makes its way into the public consciousness, women are going to freak because their presumed abundance of men will, in reality be a scarcity.

feminists do not have men to fear.

But the younger girls who will have their lives screwed up because no man will ever want them, will rip apart the feminists that brought on the division and gender war.

It is not us they should fear, but younger women who find out the real reasons why this is so messed up.

The next 5 or 10 years, and the front end millennial will be entering their 40's and essentially the end of their fertility period.

There will be Hell to pay, and of course it can never be women's fault.......so, you know who they will try and blame, but won't stick this time, as truth comes apparent.

Why get married? Like, what does marriage bring to the table?

-Companionship

-Intimacy

-Partner to raise children

-Shelter/security

So, you can have friends and peers to provide companionship, tinder for sex/intimacy, overpopulation discourages breeding, and even if you get married, there's no guarantee that will give you shelter/security. The reasons for getting married have been outsourced to other things, so the only reason why people these days get married is because they are supposed to. That's it. That's not a foundation of marriage. If you see people living in a successful marriage, it's because they both want to stay or just having built up the courage to leave.

I think its half and half. I think most men are blue pill and would like to get married at some point but cant afford to. They also cant find a woman to marry because most are riding the cock carousel and chasing chad. Then you have those of us who can see that the juice just isn't worth the squeeze.

What they're not telling you is that many couples with kids that live comfortably are being subsidized by their parents in some way, shape, or form. When the majority of people know they can't get the same treatment from their parents what incentive is there to go back to the old way in a new world?
