Yesterday I got a notification on Tinder. I've been starved for company during the CoVid quarantine and I was interested to see if dating behaviors had changed now that we're all stuck indoors. If I could get some empty, meaningless sex with low effort, why not?

I'd forgotten I had the app as I just had it installed and hadn't messaged any matches. But I noticed I got a message from a new match. The girl took the lead and hit me up, we made some cute little small talk and had good, flirty chemistry. After about 20 minutes, she suggests we link up 'to smoke some weed'.

Was pretty disgusted since 1) it's illegal in my country, 2) I don't get spend my life getting high and don't think that's a good first date plan but ok. I can have sex sober but I guess she can't.

So, yeah 20 mins in and she's already trying to make something happen. Not gonna lie, I was up for it. All it took was a bit of easy charm.

She mentioned she didn't have a job which I was cool with. Then she asks me what I do. Now, my profile is minimal- it doesn't mention my career at all. I actually have a great working life and have made millions. After I got rich, I noticed women interact with me using much more calculation and I don't like it at all. They also act shameless. I had already told her it was fine that she didn't have a job (what do I care what she does with her time?), so as a test, I told her "I work at Burger King".

5 minutes later I go to see her reply and the thread is gone! She unmatched me because my burger job wasn't good enough for her unemployed stoner ass.

I was already bargaining with myself to go through with this hookup because she was sort of sketchy and obviously desperate. But I'm REALLY glad I got this result. It reminded me what I already know: that on Tinder I'm just a resource to be assessed. I have more self-respect than that so that's why I'm not on there anymore.

I guess the other point is that I didn't really see her as anything but a resource either.
