True, it's part of the deal. But don't think you'll ever get to discipline them. Or if you don't think the kids should do something you feel is harmful, their mother has the last say. I lived it.

On the other side of it I'm very happy for another guy to be paying for my kids half of the time... especially as he gets the triple whammy of having to put up with my ex, only getting her post wall, and hearing 'you're not my dad' on a regular basis

I know that Kurt Russell did just that. He married Goldie Hawn and raised her kids after her husband dipped. It worked out. But one of the kids is Kate Hudson so clearly he saw a reason to stay.

If by that they mean ask the financial responsibility and kind of the discipline, then sure. Don't think you'll get discipline "her kids"just cause you marry and even if she does let you help then corner dad gets to fuck it up every other weekend.

There is no benefit to marrying a single mom or marrying a woman in general.
