I watched this on youtube and people were complaining how the sentence isn't fair but had it been a man these same people would have said 99 years isn't enough. The society never ceases to amuse me with its hypocrisy lol. Btw, I think she got punished so harshly only because the baby was a female.

She didn't just "beat" and "glue" that poor child. This is what she did: "Police said she kicked Jocelyn in the stomach, beat her with a milk jug and then Super Glued her hands to an apartment wall. A doctor testified that Jocelyn suffered bleeding in her brain, which put her in a coma for a couple of days; a broken rib; multiple bruises and bite marks; and skin torn from her hands from being stuck to the wall, the Associated Press says."

This isn't a "beating" like I used to get when I fucked up big time and mother gave me a single slap, this is torture. Of course, because of vagina, the media will use the smallest possible word to describe the crime.
