The laws have made it oppressive. And the church has done an absolutely shitty job in holding women accountable.

It's not outdated. I don't believe that for a second. I disagree with the view that marriage was a stupid invention to cuck the masses.

But, society sucks, because, people suck. The government is out of control, BECAUSE people suck. The church also sucks because, people suck.

There's no reversing it. That I DO believe.

in my native country, if a woman wants to divorce, and if the man did nothing wrong, he pays nothing. There is no alimony. This is so nice.

It's not marriage per se, but rather the laws surrounding it.
It all made sense when women were all stay at home moms with 3-5 children to take care of and the family was able to entirely live off the man's income. If the man would leave, the family was basically fucked because the woman most probably wouldn't have been able to find a job.
My grandmother grew up in an orphanage because her mother got pregnant with her and her boyfriend left her, so she chose to give her away. She had no chance of raising her alone because back then having a kid without being married wasn't socially acceptable and there was no social net to catch you ...

Anyway, nowadays women don't have these disadvantages anymore, so men are now actually discriminated against because the laws regarding mariage and divorce are still reflecting the gender roles from 50+ years ago ...

Marriage used to be a good deal when it was between 2 men: her father and yourself. Men used to get the custody of the child because MEN would be the ones who could afford them.

Secular marriage is a joke and not worth it.

Sacramental marriage, on the other hand, still has value but 95% of women don't want them and most men don't either, so divorce rape or MGTOW is their only choices in life.

children do better in a home with married parents, statistically, than a home with unmarried parents or a single parent. (if I posted this anywhere else on reddit, I'd get the barrage of proud independent single mothers and SJWs correcting me.)

Marriage once served a ligitimate and necessary purpose.

And now we are so much better and wiser than anyone in human history, we just continue the formality with no substance....

But it is linked to healthy and wholesome cultures, which is something we've misplaced in our piles of vanities somewhere....

But like the native american sweatlodge song line; "everything returns..."

When its a practical necessity again, it will cycle back into functionality. And until then, its a better time to do other things, if you know whats good for you....

Now is such a great time to be a guy!

We can do our own thing, and cant be saddled with a slitch if we dont wanna...

And we can even relearn strategies for lifestyles that prevent the tax man from stealing enough to be worth his effort....

I would argue that conceptually no, but practically yes. It is like theory versus execution. Even in the perfect marriage the man faces significant more legal risk than the woman. This inequality is what makes it outdated. We need laws that protect the party that is not the one breaking the contract. And we need to get rid of all no-fault divorce laws. Protecting people from their shorty behaviour is a terrible precedent to have.

Getting married and having children is PROFITABLE for women. They can make up any claims to get out of the marriage and get that alimony+child support. Then find some Beta Bucks after that. I still have access to our joint bank accounts and when I give my ex-wife child support, some months she ends up making more than I do. So with joint 50/50 shared custody, how does it make sense that she ends up needing MORE than I do, to take care of the kids? She got the house, I'm in an apartment. I even got a good deal on the child support payments compared to what the state requires. It's completely outdated and unfair.

I just really wish I got to see a world where women didn't have the options for Alimony/Child Support. See them legit take care of their man and treat them right with respect and support.

The saddest part? The real victims are not the men, it's the children.

No. Although seemingly unnatural to humanity, Marriage is almost a requirement at humanity's current average intelligence levels to maintain a relatively peaceful, highly functional, highly technologically advanced civilization. We only fucked it all up around 100 years ago when patriarchy was abolished by allowing women to vote. The problem is the laws. Either we roll things back to a patriarchy or magically everyone's IQ's bump up to an average of 120+.
