People with hatred for M.G.T.O.W. say that we are a cult. They say that there are many similarities between us and a cult. I am making this post to dismantle this claim. Discussed below are reasons why M.G.T.O.W. is not a cult.

We do not worship a single entity. M.G.T.O.W. promotes individualism. We encourage followers of our philosophy to follow any dogma or doctrine they see fit. Be it Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Atheism, Agnosticism, or any other way of thinking. We have no leaders as each person has his interpretation of what M.G.T.O.W is. However, the core belief stays the same; the idea that a man must put himself first before anything else.

We do not ask for money. As we have no leaders, no one might benefit from taking the resources of new followers. We follow the philosophy, not an individual. An ideology made and evolved through the testimonies of every single individual who follows it. Since we do not ask for funds, there is no pressure on a follower to remain in our group. He may discontinue believing what we say whenever he chooses to do so.

There is no end goal. When a man starts thinking for himself, he is to decide what his aim and purpose are. We do not ask others to drink the kool-aid since there is no kool-aid, as they are the ones who decide what to do with their lives. We are only here to celebrate his achievements.

M.G.T.O.W. does not practice any brainwashing activities seen commonly in cults. We have no chants, diets, lifestyle guides, daily routines, and other things of this nature for our followers to follow. We encourage others to make new friends and maintain healthy relationships with non-toxic people. In other words, we do not want them to cut ties with anyone who is not a negative influence in their lives. We wish for them to live a fulfilling life of their own making.

It is, therefore, clear that this community is not a cult. This community, which openly welcomes men of all ethnicities, focuses on liberating them from the ties of societal expectations. If M.G.T.O.W. is a cult, then all group therapy sessions are also a cult.

As stated in my previous posts, a man who thinks for himself is the biggest threat to any authoritative hierarchy, which is why 'they' fear us.
