Do smarter men get married?

I think a lot of smart nerds follow the standard template to fit in.

That being said, history has many smart men who didn't get married, or waited until later in life.

I don't know anything about the metrics you're mentioning, what with IQ being a difficult to measure and arguably made up number anyway.

Being smart is very domain specific. Being smart about physics doesn't mean you're smart about marriage law, divorce court, women's gold digging nature, etc.

Intelligence is almost always domain specific, and many smart people can never account for the failure of things. Success is assumed and failure is for "stupid people".

Most of the successful men I know do. They are typically smarter than the average man.. Most of these guys are obsessed with their careers and work so marriage is just another accomplishment/goal on the list. Think more like a checkbox on their to-do list.

Oddly enough, all of them are still married. I think a big reason is they married other career/income oriented women versus the pass around club girls or single moms so both have a stake in the marriage and finances. I don't think all are perfectly happy, but I see them staying together as divorcing and having to give up their planned lifestyle or disrupting it would take away from the kids/income building/career so they probably think the alternative is worse.

Marriage rate are higher for college educated men, so IQ may have less to do with it than status and resources. I have 2 BS degrees and never really wanted to be married.

Higher IQ usually translates to higher incomes, which increases marriage market value.

My perspective from Silicon Valley:

I live in Silicon Valley, work in a big tech company. A lot of guys here, and it seems like many of them get married despite the old stereotype of engineers not being able to get women. Many of my professional friends who make six figures got married in their late 20s. I'm a rare outlier in my mid 30s.

When I read about the idea of "marriage strike" in the manosphere several years ago, I never found it convincing, because what I saw in real life looked like men who had high incomes all got married when the opportunity arose.

As for women: they want to marry up. They don't want to marry a man who is dumber and makes less money. Higher IQ and salary means a higher bar for prospective partners. Just look at the "leftover woman" phenomenon in China.

Most of succesful man jump start their career about 40y old. This is linked with dropping testosterone levels. They no longer chase pussies and start focusing on higher goals. Never seen a studies linked to their IQ.

Also, specific countries laws/ culture has a lot to do. In my country there are no allimony in case of divorce and prenup is pretty good way to secure your money, so obviously a risk is lower and smart guys may also marry.
