I was driving at night yesterday, and I remember that back in the 90s my mother drove me on that particular road one day. So, I began to think, isn't it crazy how fast time files. One moment, you are just a little child, and in the next you are an adult with your own: car, job, and life. It is said that the body renews itself with time, and eventually all the atoms in your body are replaced with other atoms. It's strange to know, that in essence, I was a completely different person, that physically no longer exists. My only existence then, is just left in the memories of a few select people.

So I thought, what exactly was me, and how real exactly am I? Using science, there's really no explanation for consciousness that's proven. It seems silly to think that one day a random group of atoms in a random configuration just happened to become self aware. Is that really what humans are when we first gain consciousness, just a group of atoms in the right place that gained self awareness? Or is there something that we aren't seeing. It seems silly to believe that we are aware of ourselves, yet another group of atoms, a rock for example, isn't.

Evolution itself as a theory, doesn't explain consciousness either. As humans, we have never seen evolution ever take place. We have only seen for example, different breeds of dogs, or birds change their beaks shape over time; which is called speciation, not evolution. But we have never witnessed an animal growing completely new limbs or growing gills or growing lungs and beginning to walk on land. Or dogs, why don't they evolve mouths that can talk with humans, since they are around us so much. It only proves evolution false.

There are plenty of fish in the sea, if evolution was real, then in theory they would all step out to land eventually and constantly change to become better, at the same rate as dog breeds, but they don't.

Also, I was thinking what happens to consciousness when we die. If we are a group of atoms that are self aware, wouldn't the moment we die, we would wake up after being born again from our mothers? Essentially, left to relive the same lives that we live today over and over. Because if time is linear, our consciousness is always self aware at every moment in time. Therefore, we constantly have to go down the same linear path in time for conscious to continue to exist in that linear one dimensional space.

What are your thoughts on these subjects? Have you ever thought about these things or came up with any conclusions?
