The other poster is correct though. Get a lawyer ASAP - talk to the best in town. In most states even if you talk to a lawyer then your wife cant use that lawyer. This is a smart tactic to "block" your wife from using the best lawyers in your city against you. Sad, but true - the last to act in divorce usually comes out worse than if they had acted first. Guard your assets and be prepared to move fast at all times

Aw, I'm sorry you're going through this. I feel for you and your daughter. I've never have a kid, but I can imagine the love you feel for her. I don't have any brilliant advice, but I wish you well.

My advice:

- Learn to keep your mouth shut. When she gets heated, be silent. Do not get drawn into arguments

- She will degrade you to your daughter. They always do. She will be very concerned about your daughter preferring to be with you. She will stack the cards in her favour by ripping you apart to your daughter

- Itemize all things of value over 500. There are so many things that are "missing" that I used to own. My son, now 17, has run across this things in his mom's place. IE: My old ipod, some clothes. I still do not have a watch that my mother, now passed away, gave to me

- Track all the time you spend with your daughter. ALL of it. Wife will claim you are non-existent in her life.

- Your wife will lie without any concern. Mine said "I would never go for full custody and take your kids away". Well, court documents showed the exact opposite.

- Do not pull pull punches. You need to show her in her worst light, and you in your best. Truthfully this is war.

- She will take the position of victim and play that card for years

Remember you are playing a "game" that is stacked against you.

Get a lawyer. I had a few buddies that went through this,I usually tell them to walk awa,I know you love your kid but women use that against you.

Send your child support check and move on or fight for joint custody but don't engage with how to raise the kid and all that nonsense let her do what she wants and go your own way.

Does she work? What percentage of the household income is she bringing in? That will answer everything you need to know about divorce.

The real problem is custody and the family courts. She can have a laundry list of felonies on record, and they won't care. Meanwhile, if she makes baseless accusations against you, they'll assume it's true.

Seek marriage counselling above anything else. Post partum happens, a lot. If you're served with divorce papers, lawyer up and keep your mouth shut.

Yes, here are my results.

If she hasn’t filed, then you should do it first. Don’t accept a lawyer that is meek. My attorneys told me there is no reason why, if you want it, that you shouldn’t get 50/50 split with your children. I also don’t have child support. Let them know in no uncertain terms that those are the conditions you expect be met.

Your state and even county can skew the results you should get. I’m in a conservative state and county in the south and I came out well. Father’s rights are actually improving slightly despite the feminist disease overtaking the country.

The advice your mom gave is priceless and I did the same...I recorded everything on my phone. It can literally save your ass. Women will show sides of themselves to the men they used to “love” you never knew they had in these circumstances.

Try to keep things civil if your ex is resonable. If shes unresonable expect things to go downhill rapidly. If you can agree something try to get it down in writting with your wife.

If you can't keep it resonable or negotiate your fucked get a lawyer. Also if you can actually control the emotional fall out I would alsmost suggest not playing the game at all and just go start over in another country after extracting as much of the money as you can.

What you should really expect is divorce rape and a custody battle. Expect to loos 50% for the divorce. Expect to loose main custody of child... expect child support payments. If you win some custody expect to get a raw/unsuitable deal anyway

Best thing you can do is refuse to leave the house in the near future. Also Document EVERYTHING! If you have any money currently hide it / isolated it if its shared. Hide the pensions and everything your wife doesn't know about. Quite literally take all the paper work releated to your finances out of your house to a secure area.

guys learn the lesson, after 2 years, the wife can steal the kids and you can do nothing. leave this society.
