To be honest: I am pretty active on the ask feminist subreddit which you would see by looking at my posting history. My views are by US standards extremely left, but I am not from the US I am South African... so I don't think of myself as being radically left.

Personal note: I am in a ltr with my SO and we have two kids together. All is good on that front... obviously so far as I am aware and obviously things could change... my assessment (as with anyone's) can only be made from what (I) they have gone through in life...

I guess I am curious why shouldn't I (as I have done so far) continue to write off MGTOW as being men who are bitter because they fall into the (unlucky) camp of being bitten by a nasty person (in this case a woman) and are now just generalizing about ALL women (or whatnot) based on this experience? And in such lacking the maturity to acknowledge that in the many billions of people this story would be numerically common but hardly what most people have encountered?

Obviously the reverse is potentially true: I am in a lucky minority whereas your experiences are the unlucky majority? But with my mother, sister, SO, even my other significant-ex, most female friends, and at work (my work place is majority women), and my boss (who is a woman). I was "head hunted" for this job because a woman I went to university told my boss about me... it just feels like it is too common to be lucky?

Anyway point being I have just encountered nothing in life that gives me any space for empathy of your positions? Other than imagining a few bad relationships or something similar leaving you resentful and potentially immaturely painting all woman with the brush of this experience?

I mean I don't assume all women are good because of my "luck" on this regard?

Finally: I have a daughter who is approaching the age of noticing boys, why shouldn't I point to you lot as a group (as I am currently inclined) and saying that lot are the sort you should avoid? Which, who knows, from the sounds of things some of you would be fine with.

Edit: I am not sure about the title, but I have no personal experiences which offer me a perspective with which to be empathetic to the MGTOW movement? Which maybe I have a wrong impression of?
