Practically, it's an awful risk to get married at all anymore. Even if Ms. Right treats me properly and was everything a wife should be, that still only addresses her behavior. It does not address the woman's propensity to file for divorce (which they do in 70% of cases), lie, cheat, etc. There's no way to know what she'll do after you've put a ring on it.

The entire point of going your own way is to eschew marriage. It's impossible to be a MGTOW and married. The concepts are mutually exclusive.

Women like that don't exist. Maybe as like young girls in their first relationships, but girls quickly learn the sexual power of manipulation and how to transact themselves for maximum returns.

Every girl experiences it, and every girl is aware of it. It is almost impossible for a girl to not want to benefit from it.

Fast forward to womanhood. If you look at the complaint rate of women about men, it's at about 100%. It is almost impossible for a woman to even possibly 1) treat a man as an equal, when that's technically impossible as women have massive advantages in society and culture, and 2) can never, and will never, love him for him, because women have far more opportunities than men for relationships, therefore a man is just framework a woman wants, and any man can fill that framework as they're all disposable.

Again, women find this out at a young age, which is why women's dating requirements and entitlement is astronomical. When you look at women's dating apps or websites, they may have hundreds to thousands of messages, swipes, or indicators of interest, whereas even an average man may have only 0 to 1.

When a girl is sorting through hundreds of men, there's no choosing loving him for him, but what he can do for her, pay her, provide her when transacting what she offers.

All women experience this unless they are so incredibly ugly and screwed up that it would make the news, and even then there's usually some interest, even though it may be from men she doesn't want.

This is not men's experience.

So no, what you're asking about the possibility of something, it is so infinitesimal that its not worth a man's time to even entertain that fantasy, because it simple won't exist. Much like playing a $100 million letters and assuming because you have a 1 in 35 million chance that you'll win.

Even if such a scenario could happen, what are you exactly getting from this relationship?

Which leads to the second problem, what's the benefit? Women are replaced with porn/professionals for sex, and companionship can be gotten from friends or a dog or something else.

The ancient tradition of a wife doing some sort of domestic skillset is gone, so even that's no benefit.

Not to mention the potential legal, emotional, financial, and physical problems that can come up.

It just makes the whole enterprise not worth it, what with women choosing to become worse by the day.

The risk is much too great. I am not saying that it does not happen. But the chances of finding someone like that are so slim. It would be like gambling half your assets and 99% of your sanity on a bet that you have 0.000001% chance of winning.

Not worth the risk. You also cannot tell if a relationship will turn bad until it does. So there is no "oh I have known her for years" type guarantee.

This group has mixed opinions. Many, like myself, think casual sex and dating is fine. Many others think any interaction with a woman in a romantic setting is off limits. So you’ll find different responses depending on who you talk to.

I think most of us would agree that you can’t be MGTOW and marry a woman. You’re not going your own way if you’re legally bound to someone else.

You've got your wires crossed a bit. But it's not your fault. There is an ambiguous line between mgtow and red pill.

It's not a "group". There is no leader, no membership list, no organization, none of that. It's just many individual mem who are choosing a lifestyle because they have found it to be preferable to the alternative.
There is a term called "AWALT" which means All Women Are Like That. What that means is that all women in our society have the tools to cause great damage to your life. And any reward that is gained from having a woman in your life romantically is negated by the risk.
The only hard "line in the sand" so to speak is that mgtow men will not enter into any personal relationship that creates a legal obligation to the woman (most commonly marriage and cohabitation, though society is now encroaching even on long term relationships as well).

Go ahead and date. Look, just dont marry or ask her to move in with you. Nothing wrong with that. Be careful - the risk is real. It goes without saying, protect yourself. If you have questions like this, go and see for yourself. I personally found when i was younger it felt more like real "love", nowadays its more like a job interview if i date. You need to see for yourself. To me its not worth the risk, but sometimes you need to figure this out for yourself. Just be careful about it.

The only thing you’re missing/misconstruing is the extend of female nature, you still need more pain to learn, but that what life is all about, so don’t let anyone stop you, above all, going your own way means that you must do as your conscience dictates, not any group, MGTOW included.

I had a girl once who loved me for me. Treated me not as an equal because she knew we were not but she tried her best to compensate. Never demanding. She just wanted to spend time with me.

Then she changed.

People change. It’s part of life. We mgtows reject signing a permanent contract with lopsided penalties for the man for something as dynamic and changeable as relationships.

MGTOW is just about 1) being "red pilled" with regard to understanding women and relationships, and 2) avoiding marriage, cohabitation, and getting a woman pregnant. It encourages men to understand the risks of relationships and to focus on protecting and serving themselves, rather than (as they've been conditioned) to chase female validation and serve women and society.

As far as "partnering up" with a woman who treats you well, that's fine, but be extremely careful about getting married.

There are a whole list of problems with marriage, but one you should be aware of is the "bait and switch." That's when the woman changes after marriage and especially after kids. "Bait and switch" sounds like a conscious manipulation, but in most cases, it isn't -- it's just the way women are.

Many men don't understand this until after they are married. By then it's too late. So I'll yammer on about it for just a bit. Women can be very skillful in treating a man well, when they want to. Women's magazines, for instance, are full of tips on how to do this. It also comes naturally to many of them, if they are motivated. So, if a woman is interested in you, she has the ability to be nice, respectful, kind, sensual, supportive, and so forth. There are no shortage of women who can do that, for a man they desire.

However, things change once you're married. Sometimes it's a gradual change, and it might take years. Sometimes, it accelerates after you have kids. Before the marriage, she was sugar and spice and everything nice. Afterwards, she grows more distant, less affectionate, less supportive, grumpier, gains weight, gets lazy, complains more, etc.

So the woman you "partner up with" might not be the same woman, a couple years down the road. Be careful that your "partnership" is not a legally binding one.

Yes, it is possible but too many people make MGTOW about women and relationships only. MGTOW is simply Men Going Their Own Way. For some, they completely stop having relationships with women and others don't. There are some men who identify as MGTOW that are married and there are others who have never been intimate with another. The most important aspect is the individual and the independence. If going your own way includes a significant other, than that is your way. If going your own way is living in solitude with a dog, that is going your way too. Don't get too caught up in the relationship fixation that some members of this community focus on. Some of them are in a lot of pain due to relationship transitions and betrayals and need a space to vent but it doesn't define the philosophy of MGTOW as much as anti-MRA's and anti-MGTOW groups like to claim.

Most of the men here who came from broken relationships or marriages thought this exact thing about the woman they were with at one point.

Or am i misconstruing/missing the bigger picture of the group?

The bigger picture is that if you are interested in pursuing women and marriage, there are countless avenues available to you for engaging in and discussing that pursuit. The entire world expects you to do it, and you can talk about it freely.

The avenues for adult men who want to share their experiences about single life or about women and relationships gone wrong are few, and society is still generally unsympathetic to the struggle some men face in rejecting the idea that their worth comes from supporting a woman and her children.

Most MGTOW will cringe at MGTOW communities being called "safe spaces," because the term is so frequently associated with emotionally fragile social progressives, but in effect that is what MGTOW communities are. We're not an organization, just men sharing ideas and experiences in one of the few spaces where we're (mostly) free to do so.
