Thomas Sowell's Basic Economics is an absolute classic. If he cannot change your mind about how money works, you have no mind to change.

Economics now is not fighting the fed. With their new policy trying to stimulate us into an economic expansion with multi-trillions of dollars, all the old rules don't really apply anymore. Buy some FANG stocks and hop in the bubble. The best thing you can do is get yourself on the board or management of a publicly traded company. Issue yourself stock options and milk the company for all it's worth and jump ship, like a lot of CEOs have done during this massive bubble. They issue share buybacks which they go into debt to do, exercise their options, then get bailouts from the fed because surprise surprise, they have no cash reserves and their bills are coming due. It's all corporate socialism now and it may not end well. Top and bottom suck from the middle, that's one thing you start to learn.

Economics in One Lesson by Henry Hazlitt- 20th century book that explains the Broken Window Fallacy originally written about by Bastiat and reviews government policies under that backdrop.
Principles of Economics by Carl Menger- a general treatise of economic theory akin to Wealth of Nations, but not nearly as long. Menger also resolved the diamond-water paradox that plagued Smith and, along with a couple other economists who independently made similar arguments at about the same time, began the ‘marginalist revolution’ with his findings in value theory.
Economic Calculation in a Socialist Commonwealth by Ludwig von Mises- a relatively quick read, this is an article that was later incorporated into Mises’s larger systematic critique of Socialism. The article is a primer for one of the more serious theoretical criticisms of socialist economies vs. market-based economies.
Free to Choose by Milton Friedman- a popular 20th century book that generally argues against government interventions in the economy and describes the market-economy. Similar to the book by Hazlitt.
Basic Economics by Tom Sowell- a good book that, well, goes through basic economic principles. Sowell also criticizes popular political-economic notions (similar to the book by Hazlitt), with statistics and references supporting the arguments throughout.

Economics is a very broad subject, try to narrow what you are looking to learn about. The money system in general? Debt? Equities? Housing? Inflation? The list goes on.
