I don't travel with women because when i travel i want to get laid profusely, and taking a woman on vacation is like taking sand to the beach. And i want multiple women, some at the same time. Several times a day depending on the alcohol content of the day before. You do bot get that when you travel with a woman. You just take with you added expense, responsibility to make someone else happy, and you will get laid less. So i pass on that.
I don't live with them, because i like doing what i want, i don't like unecessary furniture, or remodelling. I don't want my stuff relegated to the garage or part of the basement. My house is mine.

I hated travel with my ex - she always wanted to get up at 7am and be off looking at things. I'd want to do an activity like paragliding or mountain biking but all she wanted to do was go shopping and look at museums - I fucking hate musuems and art galleries

Notice that when she tried to persuade you that it would be better for YOU to go with a woman, she used the reason that it would be better for the WOMAN. She didn't acknowledge that what you wanted mattered. She shifted to what mattered to her. She could only see things from her own point of view, not from yours. I think that's the thing that bothers me about the interchange.

I agree that it's not your duty or responsibility to take care of women.

Naturally, if you love someone, you would want to protect them -- that goes for a male friend, female friend, lover, even your dog -- but it doesn't sound like you love her, so that's moot.
