Just a reflection:

I've got the job in the new company in november last year. Acctualy, we had a signed contract in january last year, but whole flue hysteria got us both set back for almost a whole year because the company is abroad.

When I ariwed here I had an interview with project menager of the site that I was asigned at. He asked me if I was married or not, to wich answered that I was not emphasizing that that is good thing, having in mind that I'm not attached to wife and kids which means that I can stay for longer at the site and work longer hours and that I won't be destracted as much by missing my family. He disagreed with me saying that "Unmaried men are like a leaf in the wind".

I get what he was saying. I have no debts, no mortgage, no credits, no moth to feed but mine. My stash for rainy days suffered a bit due to lock down, but I was still fine. For him that means one thing: he can not break my back. If he would ask me to do something that is not in the contract and I dodn't like it, or if he would askme to work for longer hours than agreed, or anything along those lines, I could just pack my shit and leave. Ofcourse I did everything that I was asked to do, sometimes staying at work till the morning hours just to go my room, take a shower and come back to work. That's my work ethic. But, from his point of view, it's all up to me, he has no power over me, and people in menagement positions don't like two things: lack of power over employee and asking nicely.

Freedom is priceless, brothers. Even if you don't practice it, just having that peace of mind is the most important thing in the world. I stell have to grind my way to a goal named "f-u money", but that is also solely my choice. I have the option to change my mind.
