Red pilled is an expression used to express that you have done research on female sexual nature. Meaning you do not listen to women to understand them but instead have researched the countless anecdotal reports and theories around them made available since the inception of the internet.

Nope. I mean, I disagree with that statement. "Realizing the truth" is imo (often, see it a lot) realizing that Disney is part of the plantationing. And that the system is a plantation. And that people are picking produce for the owner of the plantation. And being told to be happy for the scraps that have been swept off the well laden table for the plebs to fight over.

But, to each their own, why not.

Being aware of womens nature, doesn't mean to hate them. If you aware for example that a lion is a predator and dangerous, it doesn't mean that you hate the animal. It only means you know the nature of the cay and have no illusion, that a lion is a house cat.

Red pill means to see reality as it is and not to believe societies fairy tales about marriage, relationship and women. It was fine to believe in that tales in the good old days, when men were backed up by law and society and it was a worthwhile deal, but not anymore.

This post is right on. The second paragraph especially resonates with how I think of things.

Going Your Own Way is not a subset of rules and certainly there should be no guide for it. It's a self experimental transition for your OWN happiness; whatever that may be.

It has nothing to do with "understanding the truth". As OP said, what truth are you seeking?

Go back to the movie "The Matrix". The redpill had nothing to do with women. Redpill was co-opted by the pussy worshippers with all the game, frame, pua nonsense. It became 99% focused on relationships with women. Even MGTOW is primarily focused on women.

Redpill was supposed to be cold objective reality. Cutting thru the crap. Science and the scientific method. So most of romance, religion, politics...? NOT redpill. Understanding the Disney brainwash men in western culture have all been put thru and revealing the harsh reality is redpill. Striving to understand the true nature of women (and men) is redpill. But it is only a tiny part of it.

I guess "taking the redpill" is the launching point. It tears down the illusions society imposes on us. What then? PUA? TRP? MRM? MGTOW? Are those paths simply the rebuilding of new illusions? The human brain does a good job of building in protection to avoid pain. Everyone has these walls, practically impossible to avoid. Don't believe me? drop some acid and see for yourself!

The original idea of "redpill" and "MGTOW" are great. What they turned into? not so great....

No, taking the red-pill means facing reality, so by definition it means you believe you have found the truth. I've seen the term used in politics and economics as well. It's not "what makes you happy." The truth sets you free; it doesn't necessarily make you happy. MGTOW is freedom, not a guarantee of happiness.

Secondly, many men have started using this expression as an excuse to hate women. These are men that have had bad experiences with women, so for them taking the red pill means realizing that all women are evil.

True enough, for some. Unfortunately "red pill raging" is becoming normative in MGTOW. But it shouldn't be. As someone once pointed out, "red pill raging" isn't caused by swallowing the red pill, it is caused when a blue-pilled man has problems getting the red pill down. It is the result of not wanting to internalise the truth provided by the red-pill. And unfortunately certain MGTOW forums (not r/MGTOW2 thankfully!) encourage this red-pill indigestion by piling on.

The red pill is awareness of female nature, male disposability, and gynocentric society which comes from the biological instinct of both sexes to put female welfare ahead of male welfare. I understand why some people dislike it, because the expression has been abused by unscrupulous people looking to quickly build a following on social media, so you have thousands of low-quality channels offering daily "red pills" or "redpilling" you on this or that topic. This content is derivative and doesn't represent the best of what the red pill has to offer, but it's unavoidable when a cultural phenomenon rises to the level of a counter-culture. Even though the "pill" concept has become a meme, in my opinion the expression is still worth retaining, because it's already established across the manosphere so you'll have a lot of difficulty changing it at this point.

This may free them from the bonds of marriage, but instead places upon them the bonds of resentment.

I think it's a bad idea to deny men their resentment. It's a necessary stage in reaching self-acceptance and peace of mind. As the growth of the manosphere testifies, many men have had negative or disappointing experiences with women and are seeking answers, which is what brings them to groups like MGTOW and TRP in the first place. Do you think that if the cultural script of relationships and marriage was working as advertised, MGTOW or TRP would be anything close to the size they are today? The red pill metaphor originated from The Matrix, which is appropriate because our situation is analogous to someone discovering that they've been living a lie, that what they believed was reality is in fact an artificial construct that doesn't match how the world actually works. As with the inhabitants of the Matrix, some men will handle the realization well and others will handle it poorly.

Life for men in tough in general, and reproductively speaking, it's even tougher if you're outside the top 20%, not to mention outside the top 50%. The "blue pill" perspective is that there's someone for everyone, that men and women are basically the same, that women want a guy who's a "good person", that looks don't matter, that status doesn't matter, and these beliefs are implanted into the consciousness of men from an early age. Of course, reality doesn't play out that way, and as the cognitive dissonance between the narrative and the reality builds up, men either repress it and become entrenched in the blue pill mentality or they have an "awakening" moment, which leads them to philosophies like MGTOW and TRP. We shouldn't be too hard on the men that have just disconnected from their pods and are using their eyes for the first time. They have a lot of work ahead of them before they come to terms with reality as it is.

Consider that many men have had to absorb a lifetime of negative female judgement before they come across a philosophy like MGTOW. A saint may be able to forgive and forget, but it's entirely natural for the average man to harbor resentment. If we deny men their resentment, we're engaged in a form of gaslighting and pathologizing of male emotion that's no better than what society at large does, when it places all the blame on individual men for failing to live up to social and biological standards, while giving them a totally false picture of how the game actually works. Better to admit that the situation is bad, and that there's nothing wrong with feeling bad.

Besides, thinking that all women are the same (or all men are the same) would probably be most associated with the blue pill since it is what everyone thinks after bad experiences (it’s a cliche).

Well, no. This is basically a re-statement of NAWALT which is a core tenet of the blue pill. Nobody is denying that there are individual differences between women, as there are between men, but in the areas that are of interest to the red pill perspective - dating, relationships, sexual interaction, and so on - women do act similarly to other women, which is what makes AWALT a valid generalization. This isn't some fringe belief; hypergamy is well-studied sociological phenomenon, and the concept was found to be valid cross-culturally. Women generally refuse to marry down either in height or income. Anecdotally, female doctors don't marry male nurses and female pilots don't marry male flight attendants, but the reverse happens so often that we barely think about it. With respect to mate selection, women are remarkably similar - in fact, more similar than men are to each other.

You say there are many married men who are genuinely happy. MGTOW would answer that even for these lucky married men, their happiness is based on an illusion which is likely to shatter at any moment of their wives' convenience. The way MGTOW usually views them, the majority of these mythical happily married men are simply adept at wearing happy masks in public to the point that the mask becomes them. The rest of them are happily living in a paradise on top of a volcano.
