Over at RPW I've written at length about how my SMV 10 partner with whom I've been in an LTR for close to a decade has handled the marriage question. Posting the upshot here in case someone can take inspiration.

My partner has always maintained the same position: Being married implies that the relationship has a permanence that cannot be secured through a binding promise, only unfolded as the years go by and the relationship remains strong enough to keep us together. My partner does not make promises he does not intend to keep, and so he will not promise me that he will always remain by my side "for better and for worse", because there are plenty of "for worse" scenarios in which he's not going to stick around.

Make sure you have a solid custody agreement in place. Did you consult with an attorney to understand implications of your present and any future arrangement?

Dude, no one here knows her, your relationship, or your situation. I suggest you start being a little bit more mature, because the implication you're giving off is scary -- you're implying you've given us enough information to make a decision. Something as subtle as how she gave you this ultimatum, how she phrased it, past discussions (led by u and by her) on the topic, and basically every other shared experience you two have had (plus everything you know about her, yourself, her beliefs, and your own) all roll up into this decision. Maybe you should start by talking to friends in your life instead of strangers on the internet?
