Evening Chaps!
Quick background: 26 years old; lifting (properly) for about three months; found TRP back in August last year after an intense psychedelic experience that I’ll discuss briefly later; met my LTR shortly after and applied RP from the get-go; moved in with her after a few weeks as I’d just come back from travelling and it served as a stop-gap until I moved into my own place; things were so awesome that I just stayed and now we are looking set to marry within the year. I’ve had a few hiccups along the road where I slid towards beta-bitch, but more recently I’ve felt the immediate benefits of lifting for helping me to hold frame and avoid becoming needy or losing my ‘I-am-the-prize-mentality’.
I’m a young fella, so certainly not as veteran as those of you who’ve been married for decades, but I don’t feel much alignment with the general Red Pill sub as they seem far too fearful of ‘divorce rape’ and run away from the age-old responsibility of manhood: wife, kids, legacy! This sub suits my philosophy far more.
What I want to talk about in this post is how my experiences with, and research into, various spiritual traditions has supported my growth as a man and strengthened my relationship with myself, my girl and the town I find myself shaping, specifically with regards to shamanic practise and the use of psychedelic drugs. This is a topic I have not seen covered in this forum, so for all those curious on how psychedelics can help with Red Pill Philosophy… here goes...
I was raised a Christian but quickly cast off all spiritual ideas when I arrived at University on a physics degree. I embraced atheism and despised all hints of religion, primarily (though I didn’t know it then) because it reminded me of my parents. I smoked; drank heavily; took party drugs and fucked strangers whose names I couldn’t even remember; I lived a walking contradiction of preaching the merits of secular life whilst subconsciously punishing myself with substances and dipping in and out of heavy depressions for reasons that I couldn’t begin to fathom. I thought starting a business would help - it didn’t. I thought having lots of sex would help - it didn’t.
This flailing continued until July of last year when, following a very intense year of conflict with a close friend and a serious reappraisal of my life, I found my way to a little house of healing in Holland. The owners of the house, an elderly couple who embodied whatever image comes to mind when you think ‘perfect balance of love and power’, proceeded to guide myself and ten other strangers through a 20 hour-long psychedelic trip with the substance Iboga. During the journey I confronted my deepest, darkest fears; had intense visions reliving key moments from my life (ranging from people I’d wronged whilst drunk to my own birth); and had what can best be described as a rite of passage from boyhood into manhood.
I came back from that trip with 25 years of emotional baggage completely gone, leaving nothing but the pure beauty and joy of each present moment that I found myself in. I was still able to plan for the future, learn from my past and correct course, but this time it was free from the mountains of guilt, shame and regret that used to weigh me down. Now, after a second Iboga journey in March where I discovered the origins of my smoking habit, resolved my doubts about my LTR and dealt with a repressed memory of molestation that took place when I was 5 years old and had been affecting my ability to trust men, I have a new (successful-so-far) business, am soon to join the Freemasons and have a fantastic relationship with a beautiful 22 year old who had identified as a feminist when we met and now discusses Red Pill theory with me and fully understands the exchange taking place (resources for sex) that forms the basis of our relationship. We have incredible sex almost every night.
Now, going to Holland and taking a powerful hallucinogen is not on the cards for everyone! But, I’d like to encourage, studying shamanism is.
Shamanism at its most basic definition is the use of any and all means available to produce healing in relationships: between body and mind, between humans and nature and between matter and spirit.
It can vary from things as ‘reasonable’ as using mimicry to help understand an individual’s inner turmoil in an attempt to help them heal, to using deep meditation to communicate with plants and discover how best to grow them (see George Washington Carver who used a version of this skill to discover hundreds of new uses for peanuts without using the trial-and-error method of science and instead using intuition after communing with his plants), to even influencing the weather.
But, you’re now wondering, how the hell does this spiritual mambo-jumbo relate to the Red Pill?
Well, my use of Iboga, my study of shamanism and my current practise of smoking weed then doing yoga once or twice a week, have all strengthened my ability to think, feel and act like the man I was born to be, by systematically cutting away at the old behavioural patterns, psychological hang-ups and physical inadequacies that held me back.
A few examples of shamanism in my daily life:
I often gain insight on decisions by randomly opening a book and reading the first line I see; listening to Spotify on shuffle regularly winds up with me hearing a directly relevant lyric or song theme at the perfect moment to help me understand the challenge I’m facing or the mistake I’m making; I use a ‘dream garden’ in my mind that I go to when I have a problem to solve, need some rest or want to learn something new; I meditate on what it would be like to be a tree and in the process learn valuable insight about sturdiness, patience and the importance of strong roots; I give myself intense massages after a workout and use deep breathing during the workout to obtain massive gains with very little formal planning - I just push my body however far it feels it wants to go and then give it a good massage afterwards.
Finally, I use deep breathing to centre myself in those moments where the frightened child-mind takes over and makes me want to beg for approval, validation or sex from my girl. A few deep breaths and a focus on the weight of my body, the smell of my pits and the girl in front of me… well… the beast takes over and whatever the fuck she was complaining about is lost in the ether to animal fucking.
The impetus for this post was after my first day of selling out of products for my business, proving that the idea has legs and giving me the signs I needed to continue to pour my attention and hard work into its growth. The day started differently: I used a Sage Smudge stick to ‘anoint’ my market stall whilst saying a silent prayer that ‘today will be a good day’. Lo and behold, a great fucking day was had.
You may have seen posts or comments referencing how some Red Pillers have found their faith useful for their journey - mostly Christianity but also the other mainstream religions. My suggestion is to expand your own research to include the more ancient customs. There’s some really good shit in there if you can see past the ceremony to the actual esoteric underpins.
Whether you take it on a purely physical level (e.g. your belief that today will be a good day affected your biochemistry in such a way that you were more attractive to passers by and therefore made more sales) or if you see the more metaphysical connotations, shamanism has a lot to offer the Red Pill student.
A good place to start is Serge Kahili King’s ‘Urban Shaman’, and if you have any questions about anything I’ve said I’d be happy to clear anything up.
