Trying to cope with loss

September 8, 2022
29 upvotes

Last month I lost my mother to cancer. She was only 42 and I'm 21, ever since then I've not been working or doing anything at all. My roommates/friends are dragging me down, I feel tired and sick all the time. I can't sleep for more than a few hours and I stay up till sunrise every night. Any advice of just support in general would be greatly appreciated.

Each day will get a little easier mate. It's a tough road and only you can travel on it. But remember that your mum would want you to survive and thrive. Don't let her passing destroy you. Good luck mate.

There is a time for grief. That time is now, and forever.

There is also a time to honor her memory. There's no better way than to succeed in life. What is the meaning of success? That's up to you..... For me, it means the pursuit of long term happiness

I know what gives me long term happiness. OP you should find out yours.... And get it.

That will make your mom truly proud

It's a hard time to survive without your mam. But remember that she raised you to be a survivor, and your strength will return in time. Our grief may never shrink, but we grow around it. Keep up the hard work. Best of luck mate

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad 2 years ago. It hurt even more because i couldn't be there during his last days and even his funeral because I was abroad during the height of covid. What i can tell you is that; Go through this time of pain and mourning. If you have any supportive friends you could stay over with them or at least open up to them. Try to remember the good times, pictures when you feel upset. If you feel like crying, don't hold back. Just let all the emotions out. The most important step to coping is to go through the pain. Take care man.

Keep going bro! You can do it! I know you will come out stronger out the other end!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
