Alright, lets break this down point by point.

1: The rape joke heard 'round the world I've read many articles about this, and I'll start by saying people have blown it completely out of context and proportion. The offending line was "just let it happen, it'll be over soon". From the video I saw, there was a man and a woman playing Killer Instinct, and the woman was getting her ass handed to her. In context of one person killing another person, it's just a phrase of violence and the oncoming end set to a video game about killing people. Feminists took it as a rape joke because that's what they read into almost everything that doesn't fit their view of female supremacy through victimhood.

2: "Your glasses are cute, but you're not" Admittedly at an after party, not E3 itself, some guy that worked for Bungie used a pick-up neg to try and get laid. Yes, there are people who aren't really that smooth when it comes to trying to get laid. But you know what? Using a neg to try and get laid does actually work on some people, sleazy or not. Could the guy have been less of a dick? Yes, obviously, but it was the bar, where shit like this is bound to happen regardless of gender.

3: So, do you play video games? Girl and guy start talking about themselves. They ask things like names, work, interests, yada yada, and then the man asks the woman if she's into games. Honestly, the guys explanation of why he asked that was understandable. When asked if he would ask any of the other guys there if they were into games, he responded that he would, because some people just aren't really into games on anything more than a casual basis. Honestly, if people are going to get their undies in a bunch over a simple ice breaker question, maybe social interaction isn't for them.

4: "When was the last time you got fucked?" A bad thing to say, I'll admit. Some people, especially those in gaming, have minimal social skills. Best thing to do is ignore him and walk away.

5: It's a man's world Yes, the videogame industry and most of its hardcore fan base is male. Because of this, there are going to be more male employees and more male readers. To some it doesn't matter who an article is by based on gender, but most people just identify with their own gender better.

I notice nobody was worried about gender and video games until the feminists showed up. Now everything has to be about women and how the video game community is oppressing them. Every tiny snippet of conversation is overanalyzed until it fits the "women are victims" feminist narrative. I'm fucking sick of it.

Stuff like this is extraordinarily frustrating.

It seems like "event centering on an hobby which is majority-male" is always understood by feminists as "secret Patriarchy meeting."

So then they come in and try to force everyone to change their behavior and to adopt feminist-approved preferences.

When the hobbyists tell the feminists to back off, the feminists always scream "MISOGYNY!!!"

This isn't really surprising. Radical Second and Third Wave feminist theory sees male-majority cultural institutions as breeding grounds for rape culture and patriarchial memes and thus they need to be brought under feminist policing. As per usual, the outlook is "men's cultures are the problem and they must be forced into sensitivity training."

Yes, some women play hardcore games. Yes, they are a legitimate market segment. There is nothing wrong about members of that market segment expressing their preferences and there is nothing wrong about their preferences being catered to (and it also should be stated that those women who play hardcore games are not necessarily in agreement with the gamer-hating feminists!).

But the fact that these women's preferences aren't CENTRAL to the gaming industry is not bigotry.

You can fairly describe the gaming industry as Androcentric. It is. But Androcentrism is not the same thing as Misogyny.

Ah, I see! I get it!

So feminists complain that women are underrepresented or misrepresented in video games.

They say that developers should create more games which cater to their needs.

In order to make this happen they try to sabotage every major gaming convention, throw completely unsubstantiated accusations of all kinds at unnamed game developers and make it clear that they hate games, developers and organizers alike.

Do you see it?

It's negging, isn't it!?!?!?!?

By attacking the gaming industry's self esteem and making them feel bad - because clearly a multinational entertainment industry secretly needs the approval and support of a handful of insane women who hate everyone - they'll convince the gaming industry to settle for them!
