While reading up on some material for a class discussion on the differing treatment between the genders (a discussion that I have been waiting and preparing for for a month) I came across the definition of rape on Wikipedia. Most of it seemed accurate enough until I saw the statistic used for the United States. It seemed a little one-sided to say the least so I checked out the source material. This is NOT ok and only serves to further demonstrate society's unwillingness to see BOTH sides in this issue. Below is the first sentence in the section on rape statistics in the US (I didn't bother to read the rest) as well as the source (note the date of publication).

"The U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics states that 91% of rape victims are female and 9% are male, and 99% of rapists are male."
