It is a bogus book. The final sentence from the review:

"Yes, men are struggling to adapt to more a feminized world, and they could certainly use a little more sympathy and support, but they also have the power to assert themselves and be the leaders, fathers, and husbands they were meant to be."

Yeah, that is total bullshit. "... they also have the power to assert themselves ..." No, they don't. What we have is that the powers of the government, including law enforcement and the law courts are taken over and controlled by the feminist power group. Men don't have a flying chance against the power of the government. Men are discriminated against and are second class citizens with most of their human rights, such as the right to due process, to the presumption of innocence and the to an impartial jury taken away from them.

"They have to power to assert themselves." My ass. Both the book and the reviewer are totally disconnected from reality. What a fake.

well, what do you suggest?

[–]PeonSupreme[S] 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think that both the book and the reviewer correctly identify the problem facing men: feminism has devastated us. Unfortunately, both the book and the reviewer give the wrong solution, i.e., men should develop themselves to be more appealing to women. I think men should stop trying to appeal to women and just make the most of themselves for themselves.

Men need to go their own way

[–]Redeemed01 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Moving away from the situation won't do anything good for us, you basically concede the playground to them, you have to stand up and tell them to shut it down. Otherwise, it will end its oppression, tyranny, and far worse. What do you think will happen once they are done with western society? Yeah... the east.

[–]John_Savage69 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Playground will eventually collapse and be a rubble of rust and ruin if men are not there to fix it and build a new one.

[–]Redeemed01 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Sure, weak men are an indication of decline, it has happened in history before.

[–]John_Savage69 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

"weak" ! = no longer willing to be slaves to a system that hates the,

[–]Redeemed01 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

well, I see us as weak, because we literally let women trample over us despite knowing the bullshit they are literally making up each day

[–]thepornspoon 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What exactly are we supposed to do?

What a joke The Federalist is pretending to be pro male after backing anti male laws like male only conscription and making articles dismissing the men's rights movement

https://thefederalist.com/tag/drafting-women/

https://archive.is/RZgTH

https://archive.fo/T7MRB

Even the article is written in a way that blames men for any pastimes they have that don't involve relationships with women and criticizes the author of the (still traditionalist) book for making generalized statements about women (but of course no objection to when the author does the same for men)

So what is the underlying principle of masculinity? According to Baskerville, it’s leadership: “Being a man has always meant being a leader, and it always will mean that.… Leadership is not an option but an imperative; it, too, comes with the Y chromosome.” All the other manly virtues like strength, courage, and industry all stem from the idea that a man must lead and assume responsibility. Moreover, becoming a leader is all the more important at a time when true masculinity is deemed toxic and men are told to step aside.
...

Nevertheless, despite the attempt to remain constructive, Baskerville can’t seem to hold back his resentment and paranoia towards feminist indoctrination: “It is women, especially politically radicalized women … who will get the upper hand, many of whom do not like men like you.” Whether one agrees with this claim or not, it’s difficult to see how this does anything constructive. If Baskerville means to encourage caution, he could just say so instead of giving the impression that the majority of women today hate gentlemen. Rather, this claim mainly serves as a moral escape hatch for men who have fallen short. In truth, and Baskerville conveniently omits this detail. All too many men have suffered through their own mistakes, not because of some feminist boogeywoman. Nowhere in his book does he address the common addictions (pornography, alcohol, drugs, video games) that hold the majority of modern men down, especially young men. Although one might argue that ending these habits and assuming the role of masculine leadership is implied, more must be said in the interest of relevance and practicality.

Only too late does Baskerville seems to take up the problem of mediocre masculinity, as he urges men in his conclusion to take charge and “stop adopting the stance the world is unfair and that it is your job to take every opportunity to tell the world why it is so unfair.” Thus, after a promising beginning, and a well developed middle, the conclusion of Baskerville’s argument about masculinity falls somewhat flat.

This.

This community needs to stop sharing around conservative litter. Conservatives have shown themselves to back discriminatory laws against men, and treat men's rights activists like dirt. They are not our friends.

[–]JohnGawel 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Agree. Sharing tradcons in male rights space is the same nonsense like sharing feminist propaganda here.

[–]JannTosh12 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think it should be shared to show people that conservatives are anti mens rights and to counter/mock it

[–]Axleonder 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Anyone attacking habits men enjoy (like pornography and video games) is anti-male.

They're basically saying men cannot live life for themselves, they have to live life as a servant for some woman, i.e. a member of the gender aristocracy.

[–]JohnGawel 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So it would be reasonable if OP had been posted this article in FDS but not here.

Sometimes I post stuff just to see what people think.

Why do I want to "lead" others? I want to do my own thing and be left in peace.

[–]ThePigmanAgain 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Is that man holding a cancer stick? Is that how we fight for men? By encouraging them to do something as stupid as smoking?

[–]Algiz56 -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nice points about education and leadership.

Though, I laughed at "liberal education". This guy almost flawlessly repeats millenia-old nobleman education plethora. And calls it "liberal education", while it should be called "common sence education of a whole person".

About leadership.I may be down voted to hell, but recent month I was feeling sneaky suspicion, that atleast part of people, concerned with men's rights, in reality just want to have same position as feminists, but with dick, mimicking to seem like MRA.
