It’s the men who seemingly have it all that often suffer in silence the hardest.

<sigh>. According to scientific studies covering over 1500 male suicides, the urban myth of "men suffering in silence" is rightly called "harmful medical misinformation". Here's an extract from the linked paper:

Rates of contact with services among middle-aged men were higher than expected; almost all had been in contact with a front-line service or agency at some time. It is therefore too simplistic to say that men do not seek help.

Now Murray's death is an individual case, so it could be an outlier, but if we looked a little deeper I wouldn't be surprised if this man had sought help from medical services. Probably multiple times. Whether he was just functionally ignored by a system that always considers men to be a low priority...that's the question we need to be answering. Guilt-tripping and gaslighting friends and family to do the job that health services seems unable or unwilling to do is only going to result in more tragedies like this.
