I'm cut too. No one is saying you're a worse person for being cut.

We're saying cutting is a horrible practice.

You need to understand no one is commenting on you or anyone else who's cut, we're discussing the medical procedure in all it's useless, sex negative abusiveness.

But there's always one thing that annoys me personally and that's the general opinion of circumcision or as a lot of people here call it male genital mutilation.

it literally is though. It's the cutting of the genitals (genital) which takes away one or more functions of it (mutilation)

I see what happened as just another medical procedure like getting a mole removed.

but it's not. Moles might be cancerous, and if they aren't they are never removed. Circumcision is infact the only surgery that preemptively removes parts of the body that aren't diseased. People can leave a malignant tumor alone, and often do. MGM however is done before any problems arise.

The point is, there's a lot of good shit on this sub but maybe, just maybe, people could consider that circumcision isn't some terrible thing. That's just my opinion.

circumcision is done without consent of the person it is done to. It is done exclusively to men in the west, and is done without the medical backing of any organization. Even the AAP doesn't endorese RIC.

I had my tonsils taken out when I was 6. I didn't have them removed as a child, even though they were becoming dangerous to me and were diseased. Do I wish they removed my tonsils at birth? no.

I had the same thing happen with my appendix. Ditto that. Only remove things that are diseased. And even then, that should be a last resort.

MGM is a hap-hazard violation of human rights.

The problem isn't you. It's the parents. What gives parents the right to cut off a perfectly healthy part of their child's body? And why does society care when it happens to girls, but not when it happens to boys?

Cutting off a healthy, functional part of the body is mutilation by definition. I get that it makes you feel weird, but that doesn't change that it's a fact: They amputated a part of you that did not need amputation.

You mean like that HIV study, where they included the convalescing time when monitoring for new cases? You know, like "They couldn't have sex for months, because we had them cut, we also gave them sex ed, and somehow less of them got HIV than the control group that wasn't cut or educated?"

But let's assume they did lessen the chance of an infection with an STD (which they don't, else EU would have beat the US in STDs hands-down; It doesn't): STDs are relevant for a baby boy exactly how?

And maybe you could consider the fact that you feeling weird is somewhat less relevant than millions of infant boys having their human rights and their choice taken away from them. I mean, I do get it - nobody wants to contemplate that their own parents mutilated them (even if those parents did it because they had been taught that it's best for their boy). But the simple fact of the matter is: It's mutilation, it violates human rights, it takes away the boy's freedom to choose, and most all advocacy for it is built on a very shaky foundation indeed. Every boy that isn't cut as baby is a win in my book. But in order to get such wins, we have to talk about the realities of MGM. I also get that it makes some people uncomfortable, but, to iterate: It's not about your feelings. It's about the next generation of boys and them not having their basic rights violated. Sorry.

Others have commented on other points. I want to add, we get moles removed for cosmetic reasons or because they've grown and/or present a health risk for cancer, a medical necessity/prevention based on observable symptoms of a possible illness. We don't routinely alter another person's body by cutting parts of it off for the hell of it. It's reprehensible to cut off parts of someone else's body for aesthetics.

The only person making you feel anything is you. The people here are presenting facts for your information, and are also presenting how they feel/ think along with them.

Lot's of guys are cut, but because we don't go comparing dicks in the locker room and talking about how much or little we feel when we have sex/ masterbate doesn't mean we weren't mutilated. This is the first place I have ever seen where guys are free to even think about it, never mind actually have a talk about it.

And most of us wouldn't know shit if it wasn't for this place because it's how we've been our whole lives.

You have lived your entire life missing 75% of the erogenous nerve endings in your penis. Of course you see nothing wrong with this; you've never experienced anything different.

We're all glad you enjoy your penis, and you don't think it was terrible to happen to you. However, many men who do more reading on this eventually conclude that they'd rather have had the choice. By cutting children at birth, our societies and parents deny men that choice, and the fact that you got to avoid doing it at an age where you'd remember your "nervousness" and pain is no compensation for the men who know they've been harmed by the practice.

We have all considered that circumcision isn't some terrible thing, but we have found the claim wanting. If you want to support your claim, do it. So far, you have just made the claim, and we reject it for a variety of reasons.

If you want your ideas to be taken seriously, don't just throw out your opinion and say "that's just my opinion." Support it. Make an argument.

Definitely the fact that MRM attacks Jewish and Muslim religious practice is regrettable. Discrimination and hate against men has reached epic proportions in Anglosphere, but that is not a reason to further attack 1.7 Billion Muslims.
