Abuse by suicide threats?

I had an ex wife and an ex girlfriend that did suicide threats. With the girlfriend I was a single dad and freaked out at the idea of my son finding a dead women in the back yard.

I broke up with her soon after.

Women see themselves and are seen as having inherent value, therefore a suicide threat makes sense since it's a threat to remove something of value. Men who are suicidal see themselves and are seen as worthless or having negative value (compared their absence) and so it makes no sense to make a threat because you'd be threatening to make people's lives better which makes no sense.

Abusive false threats of suicide for attention could be an explanation for the massively higher chance that women have of talking about or threatening suicide compared to men (something like 16 times more likely to do it per actual suicide compared to men). I do know that talking about suicide or making a "fake" attempt does correlate with actual suicide but I don't know if there's a break down by sex that's been studied. This sort of thing gets political and feminist would tend to censor the science as they have done over domestic violence, child abuse, child sex abuse or rape for example.

I imagine it's hard to objectively determine when someone is maliciously threatening suicide instead of doing it at least in part out of a genuine depression. It's hard to think that many people threaten suicide maliciously and aren't also pretty sick in other regards. A lot of abusive threats by women might be just a female way of looking at it based on their perceived value to society compare to men.

I ended up marrying my ex-wife after she'd pointed a knife to her stomach with tears flowing.

I would have been happy to never see her again, but still feared her killing herself.

In fact, I believed that she probably wouldn't have acted on her threat, but just the fact that I couldn't be sure was enough to trap me.
