Feminists misrepresent privilege and redefine power structure to their advantage.

A privilege is a benefit granted to some but withheld others. I’d like feminists to name any benefit granted to Johnny Depp not given to Amber Heard giving him power over her.

Wealth allows one greater purchasing power but it’s ridiculous to say it gives one person control or power over anyone with less wealth. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are astronomically richer than me, but it doesn’t make me a slave to them.

Power over others comes in many forms. Courts favor women in divorce and child custody. The fact women are generally believed over men is something they can and do leverage for power. Amber Heard was recorded as saying as much. She came right out and said she’d be believed over him and she was using that in attempt to get the upper hand. Had she not been recorded and made other stupid mistakes, she very well may have succeeded.

MeToo is another similar example. Women have the power to make a man lose his job or be denied a political office simply by making an unfounded public accusation. That’s incredible power.

Those feminist arguments simply don’t hold up.

Wealth isn’t giving Depp any great power over Heard, but his ability to hire lawyers means he may not get as screwed over. Even if he wins this lawsuit, he’ll never fully recover his reputation and he’ll never recover all the income lost as a result of the accusations against him.

That would be if they treated people equally and weren't bigots. But since they are, what they're saying is that a woman can commit any crimes, and you must pity her and let her get away, ideally praise her, just because she's a woman.

I hope men pay attention to this. You are automatically an abuser and patriarch if you are older and make more money than your partner.

Within the last few years I had the opportunity to get into a live in relationship with a woman in her late twenties. The first night she stayed over I realized that if she ever accused me of anything the first thing they will see is the age difference and I'd be sunk.

I asked her to move out in the morning that night. And I've slept better since then.

The rationale doesn't have to be rational if you're a feminist. To be fair this is more of a right wing thing in general rather than specific to feminists. The important thing to right wingers is to win the argument and never to find "truth" or argue rationally. To the right winger an argument or debate is an attack on their tribe by an outsider. Their beliefs are prescribed by the tribal authorities. Anyone who criticizes those beliefs undermines / attacks the tribe so they must be fought.

They don't care about facts, truth, right or wrong, intellectual rigor or reason. It's an attack on the tribe so all that matters is winning. Therefore there's no need or benefit to be truthful, honest, consistent or ... anything. Unless they're aware of third party observers who care about that in which case they can pretend it's important to them so they "win".

Left wing people don't identify with a tribe so they don't have these issues (apparently autistic people the same thing). It's only their own ego that's on the line so the whole thing has less of a threat. Course the ol' ego can be a vulnerability to many but it's not the same especially as remaining truthful and reasoning is probably a big part of an ego / self-image, so cutting corners won't help anyway.

The feminist you talked to like every feminist just needed a win. Doesn't matter if what they say is wrong, stupid, self-contradictory, dishonest - none of that. Only thing that matters is the "argument" ends with the words "I win" or "that's why men are privileged" or whatever the bullshit pay off is.

In short "the conclusion justifies the argument" (cf "the ends justify the means")

I think this is a pretty flimsy comparison. Its a lot easier to leave an abusive relationship when you have more money and power.

Its not a lot easier to avoid being raped when you have more money or power than the rapist.

Abusive relationships are often predicated on a lack of power of the abused and comparing it to rape is unnecessarily clumsy.
