Alright I know the title is inflammatory, but it's not wrong is it? Isn't the average man similarly oppressed by these systems of power that are built and maintained by men?

I think this is demonstrated pretty well in this video.

Let's just run through a few issues I think prove this point:

  1. Male suicidality being far higher than women's

This stat is thrown around as a reason for Men being the actual oppressed class. But isn't this just a result of the societal expectations put on men. The whole "Shut up about your feelings and tough through it big guy" attitude is reinforced by men to each other. This is obviously a toxic mindset, (you might even call it Toxic Masculinity) because there is no way that clamping down on your emotions is in any way going to lead to good mental health outcomes. And I think this is probably the reason we have so many men choosing suicide instead of seeking help. I mean hell even I was in this headspace at one point and nearly chose to end it all because I was afraid of seeking help.

  1. Male workplace injuries and military deaths

Alright so this is caused by men dominating roles with dangerous conditions. But isn't this also reinforced by toxic masculinity? We don't need to be the ones choosing these positions and excluding the other gender. Yes there is conditioning in women that leads them to believe they don't belong in these positions. But that conditioning also leads men to believe women aren't valuable as for example service members in the military, or construction workers, or so on so forth.

And all of this social conditioning was created by men throughout the ages, because they were the ones in the positions of power that allowed them to condition the masses. We can't just ignore history here and expect people to act in ways that haven't been hammered into them since birth.

  1. The social issues involved with dating

Okay I know this is a heated topic, mostly because of all that red/black pill crap. I think we have to look at what the current situation and try to break down what's going on here. So dating comes in two forms right now, dating apps and in person.

For men the problem with dating apps is a numbers issue, the ratio of men to women on dating apps is 80/20 men/women. Now this is gonna lead to an obvious problem. men get basically no attention and women are flooded by desperate people who end up acting creepy as fuck. This then reinforces the attitudes of women who feel they can't use the apps without being harassed by a mob of weirdos leading to them leaving the app which then makes the gender disparity worse and the cycle continues like that.

If we didn't have men who've been taught that the only source of value they can have is sex I don't think this would be such an issue. Because it's men who are causing all the issues here, we have a toxic mindset that is leading to women putting their guard up around us. Because we're the ones being creepy, we're the ones who send unsolicited dick pics, we're the ones getting irrationally angry at women who reject us.

And this leads into real life because if you thought this was just an issue on dating apps you are waaay wrong. Everything I spoke about up there applies to real life interactions as well, guys don't just suddenly stop being creepy when they log off.

I think this video shows a really good view about male sexuality and how our current view towards it is just broken.

Anyways I don't know if I'll just get a bunch of hate for this, if you can make some arguments in the comments against this I'd love to have a chat. I just don't think the men's rights movement is looking at things from the right angle. I think Men's Liberation is doing a far better job because feminism is also a movement that advocates for men's rights and to ignore that and just post about "Women did bad thing to man" just ain't it chief.
