We have reached a point where the "better safe than sorry" mentality is being weaponized into a "guilty until proven innocent" culture for men in public spaces.

A father is out with his daughter, recording a quick video, and a group of strangers starts yelling at him to stop recording "random women" until his daughter has to awkwardly step in to clarify that it’s her dad. Or, a dad is seated on a park bench, watching his kids at the playground, only to be treated suspiciously and confronted until his wife has to step in and point out that it’s her husband and his own children. And let me be clear, if it was a mother/woman figure recording her daughter or sitting on the park bench, nobody would bat an eye.

People defend this behavior by saying, "They just meant well." But "meaning well" is not a free pass for prejudice, misandry, and public humiliation.

It does not mean that one should ignore actual predatory behavior. But society should stop treating a man’s presence in public with women or children as a default threat. Assuming the worst of a man just because he is a man, is not being "vigilant", it is spreading prejudice and normalizing misandry.

The current state of the society has normalized a culture where men are deprived of their dignity based on biased assumptions, and being told that they are not allowed to be angry about it. It’s time to stop the "guilty until proven innocent" mindset. Being a man in public is not a red flag, and being "well-intentioned" is not an excuse for prejudice, harassment, and misandry.
