What are your current opinions based on?

If you don't have good arguments for your opinions then you need to reconsider your opinions.

The same thing applies to the others in your class. If they base their opinions and beliefs on limited knowledge or understanding then they should reconsider.

I suspect that the feminism chapter contains mostly truthful things, but doesn't include a lot of important information. If you can identify the information that is left out, then you can simply point out that there is missing information and the conclusions made could be wrong.

Honestly my dude...it's high school. My personal opinion is keep your mouth shut. You're not going to change anyone's mind. They are all going to hate your for it. Think as you like, but for now, act as everyone else.

If they truly want to be "equal" ask them why they're still fine with being 2nd class citizens regarding men can go shirtless in public, and women can not.

If they truly want equality, ask them why they're not bothered by the numbers of men being homeless as opposed to women. And the same in the disparity in prison sentencing.

If they truly want equality, ask them why its fine for women to make decent money at places like Hooters or Twin Peaks, and men can't get hired there for the same job.

Point out to them that this supposed disparity in salaries, only applies to a few sectors of society and they pick and choose which ones to support their argument, while ignoring the rest.

Just because they "see you as the opposition" does not mean that you have to be that. You are not responsible for all men. You are not responsible for defending men. They are protecting that onto you, and you're feeling compelled to oblige.

They're getting practice for what women do best... emotional manipulation.
