You need to understand that online dating is very heavily weighted in favor of women. They have literally hundreds of messages from desperate men, so even the most unwanted women feels that she is able to secure a man far above her SMV.

So you have these women who are getting constant validation have these long lists of requirements from a man before they will even consider them, because they think they are worth it, because of all the feminist brainwashing.. ("If he can't handle you at your worst, he doesn't deserve you at your best" type of garbage).

Economics.

Women passively receive offers to date and have sex. They usually receive multiple offers simultaneously. Thus they are in a position to choose and be selective about whose offer they will accept. Because of the frequency and ease with which women receive offers, they view the dating world as a land of abundance and opportunity.

This can seem strange and alien to a male, because most males do not receive offers of sex and dating passively, or at all. Most males view the dating world as a barren wasteland of scarcity. So much so that seeing a woman's checklist can be truly baffling.

But alas, so it is. Women have checklists because they passively have many offers. Men are baffled by checklists because they mostly have no passive offers.

Men and women may occupy the same space, but when it comes to dating, they live in two different worlds!

Human mating is not much different then in the animal kingdom. Males compete for the females. Females chose the winner of the competition. So of course in online dating you expect women to chose in the form of stating preferences.

Absolutely. That is what a lot of women's profiles are. Lists of demands.

And you'll also notice a key detail: What makes the woman deserving of a man who is good enough to match the stuff on her list of must-haves? That information is usually under-developed or non-existent. What makes Suzy Smartgirl worthy of Chad McDreamboaty-Sixfiguresayear? There is often no good answer.

In contrast, men's profiles-- although there is the occasional moron who says "wanna fuck?" or has poor writing-- are often displays of what valuable things they bring to the table. So, really, it's a total joke. In fact, the business model of these paid dating sites means that it is in their interest to not let paying members have good chances of meeting each other. "We have 10 million profiles!" Okay, how many real people? How many paying people? When the Ashley Madison site got hacked, the code showed that it was basically a giant scam with nearly all of the female members being software phantoms, with paying men trying to correspond with automatic bots. If you were a gay man, it was a lot better. It was as if they'd made a conscious decision to go-after straight men's wallets.

Yes.. it's not worth trying even. Women on those sites are so priviledged that you would need to be an extra handsome billionaire playboy to satisfy the worst one. It isn't worth the effort.

When I was doing the online dating thing I put in the profile things I was looking for, but they were all personality related. Must like Dogs, No Cats, must have a dorky sense of humour, non-smoker, etc.

I did not want to waste to much time with women I was not going to be interested in. I'm 6'5...I got a lot of attention because of my height(women are very shallow). I could be picky. If a woman is getting a lot of messages expressing interest I can't blame her for making a list of what she is looking for.
