So, today I was scrolling on Instagram Reels (which is a terrible pastime, I know). The algorithm was giving me misandrist videos. I’m sure you’re all familiar with what that looks like. On the surface, it would make sense to say that this was just the algorithm feeding me ragebait to make me angry, and to a certain extent, that’s true.

You know what, though? A lot of women I know from high school or college are liking this kind of content. It’s easy to say “go outside get away from this gender war nonsense”, but the reality of it is, this kind of hate exists in real life, and it’s infecting the brains of young women. It’s socially accepted. We as men allow women to get away with it, when they would never do the same for us.

Makes me feel alienated that I see this kind of misandry everywhere, but I rarely can call it out because I risk my whole reputation in doing so. There’s a groupthink where women always feel the need to defend women, and men don’t want to lose sexual access/social status, so they don’t call out the overt toxicity.

What is your advice for this?
