Summary: false rape accusations are not a problem. He quotes a British Study (supposedly the best study to date) that states that only 2 men (of 214) who were deemed to have been falsely accused were arrested and charged. We've seen dozens of cases from the UK posted here where that was what happened. The UK could give a shit if a man is innocent, it's sole concern has been to increase the conviction rate by any means possible ( thanx Alison Saunders ). Also, he says that those two men probably found it 'a highly frustrating experience'. He also say at that only 1.5% of the cases were deemed false and named a suspect, which I think is also bogus, men's careers have been ruined without being named.

In short, this video is a repackaging of biased lies and the official lines.

Also, the poster's account is 1 month old, probably a throwaway account.

[–]Wisemanner 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

It doesn't matter whether they arrested and charged, or not. They were put under serious stress for probably many months. And, if the news had got out, they would have suffered from the effects of the investigation probably for the rest of their lives.

[–]Solid_ferret 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Have you ever been under investigation for anything? Its not like the movies it aint that live ruining lol. Also there are rules preventing certain info from coming out to the public during a trial and people reporting on it could face prison like what happened to Tommy Robinson. US may differ and if so laws need to be changed.

[–]Wisemanner 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You can read numerous accounts in these pages of men who have been accused of sex offences and have lost their jobs and their educations because of it, and not got those things back when the accuser was found to be lying.

[–]Solid_ferret -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

accounts arent stats and data. Thats why i posted this. Imagaine watching a reading accounts of men murdering children and getting away with it you would believe this always happens but if you look a data and stats (from a nonbiased and reliable source) you would find out it is not common. But it not being common doesnt make it any less right but maybe not as big as of a deal.

[–]Wisemanner 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They are a big deal for the poor devils on the end of them.

[–]Solid_ferret 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You could literally say that about anything like falling of the bed and dying

[–]martynhare 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

214 is the number of convicted false accusers convicted over a 10 year period. So of the 214 people that got convicted for falsely accusing men of rape, only 2 of those accusers managed to get men charged with rape. It's a deliberately misleading argument.

Also, what this doesn't take into account is the number of false accusations where the police did not go ahead with a prosecution based upon CPS advice. Not understanding what "consent" means, being drugged/drunk or being "vulnerable" are but a few legitimate defenses for a false accuser based on CPS guidance, however, these standards do not apply to an actual rapist when deciding whether or not to prosecute them.

See: https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance/false-allegations-rape-andor-domestic-abuse-see-guidance-charging-perverting-course under the section "Observations on the Evidential Stage", from point 12 downwards.

[–]Solid_ferret 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

" I think is also bogus "

Have you done a very extensive survey to prove otherwise and if so please sure? Stats and data dont care about personal experiences or opinions they are their to only provide information whether it goes against your agenda, beliefs and feelings.

[–]tenchineuro 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

They don't collect stats on false rape accusations, making a false rape accusation is not even a crime as such, so there is nothing to count. In the UK in the rare case where they put a woman in trial, it's for either 'wasting police time' or 'perverting the course of justice', neither of which is a crime against the man accused, both are crimes against the state. In the US in the rare case where the DA does something, it's usually for some form of perjury, also a crime against the state (but not a felony).

One researcher did look into false rape accusations in some unnamed midwestern town and found that 41% of the rape accusations were false. It seems to have been a bad move career wise, cause Eugene Kanin dropped off the map. I only found one other paper by him.

[–]Solid_ferret 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

' They don't collect stats on false rape accusations '

Correct the government doest but a shit ton of private organisations do like the one in the video which is the largest in the uk and maybe the world.

' cause Eugene Kanin dropped off the map '

Probable fell of the map cos it was a shit paper and from what i was told by you sounds like he never had a extensive experiece collecting data. Their are college students who done more. Also it survey done in 1994 should not be used today.

Probable fell of the map cos it was a shit paper and from what i was told by you sounds like he never had a extensive experiece collecting data.

Why would he need it, it was not a national study, it was a study of false rape reports in some small unnamed midwestern town. The dataset was about 209 rape accusations if I recall correctly.

https://studybreaks.com/culture/false-rape-accusation-dispelling-myth/

So you're a feminist then. Do you belong to #believethewomen?

[–]Solid_ferret 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Whether it was a national study or not it was a shit study done by a incompetent man with only one other piece of experience in this type of work. WHICH WAS DONE IN 1994.

The guy collected data from only 209 which is very tiny. I dont know about the US but in the UK between 2017-2018 2800 people got investigated ()for rape so in the us its probably more due to the population. How can you trust this but not the one in the video? Unnamed Midwestern towns sounds very fishy as well but hey lets just ignore that.

What suggests i am a feminist dude. The source i provided isn't and is pretty good when it comes to dispelling studies. And No i don't believe the women and the MEN either cos where both shitty people and i don't tend to circle jerk people.

Take into account the average sentence for actual rape is only 5years in the UK. The issue isn't crimes false accusers getting a justifiable sentence its criminals in general not getting them.

She's convicted and they let her out on bail before sentencing? Note, she has not been sentenced, this atricle does not make your case.

The issue isn't crimes false accusers getting a justifiable sentence

Tell that to Liam Allen.

its criminals in general not getting them.

Do you think all men accused are guilty?

[–]Solid_ferret 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

' She's convicted and they let her out on bail before sentencing? Note, she has not been sentenced, this atricle does not make your case.'

Yes it does! My point is that the justice system is broken but it isnt a gender thing. .Jemma Beale got 10 yrs while cook got out on bail so it isnt a gender thing.

Many factors could play in hand like class, the biases of prosecutors, shit lawyers, the race of the accuser or the accused like the guy was a muslim and as you may know muslims in the uk are a sort of protected class who dont get called out for their sick beliefs like forced circumcision which happened to me but muslim mostly men defend it. MRA never confront muslims just like feminists who dont call them out for forcing girls to wear hijab. Both sides of a the same coin.

What happened to Liam is awful no one denies that. All i am trying to say is that some people are treating the false accusations problem like its the most common problem for men when in fact it isnt. Instead of bashing feminists we should being bashing the the politicians who send mostly men to bullshit wars (Iraq and maybe Iran soon) and dont give us the proper health and mental services we need to prevent things like suicide. They are the people behind it.

It should be a men v govt not men v women.

He aint saying its not a bad thing but it isn't what some people make it out to be. This victim hood mentality has now also affect men sadly.

So you don't think that men falsely accused of rape are victims? Well, you have lots of company, neither does the CPS or the police or the DAs in any commonwealth country.

[–]Solid_ferret 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

No a lot common wealth countries do see it as being a victim. They have different laws its not like the states of the US. If i am wrong please provide sources from valid sites about ALL commonwealth countries thank you.

Being convicted of rape is arguably worse than rape. You are immediately shunned by yr community. You lose close friends. You may kose a job.

There are zero support services. Many times people you reach put to will castigate you.

Your whole life, even years later will be tainted. Ten years later you see someone whispering in a grocery store and you wonder if they think you are a rapist. It is dehumanizing.

It's like saying rape victims should stop whining.

Your wrong.

[–]Solid_ferret 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

You should watch the video again mate. Um no. what i am saying it isnt as major of problem mra's are making it out to be. Did you watch the part where he said most dont get their names out to the public so their is no way of your job knowing. Also when a accusation is disproven many people will stop judging the person. In the video it said many false accuser are forced to by their parents after having consensual sex. How many of them do you think were done by those over protective parents you the ones who would hold guns when meeting their daughters boyfriend or prom date?

Also a accusations arent as bad as someone raping you. Rape COMMONLY leads to PTSD and even suicide like their was a 17yo girl in europe who got euthanized cos she could deal with the pain. Imagine you had a little boy/girl lets say 15, would you prefer them to get a false accusation which could be disproven and likely would or would you want them to get raped instead (please answer this question without circle jerking other mra's to get brownie points please)?

[–]Egalitarianwhistle 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

It's silly to argue over what is worse. Rape is the worst thing you can do to someone. So being a rapist is the worst possible thing you can be. Being unfairly labeled a rapist is the worst thing you can be called.

Rape is horrible and does lead to ptsd and suicide. A false accusation also leads to ptsd and suicide.

I guess your question comes down to would you rather have the worst possible thing happen to you or would you rather have your legacy be that you are the worst possible sort of person, (when in fact you are not.) Tough call.

Your error is that false accusations are easily disproven. They arent. Even when they are disproven. Decades later, people will still remember you as that guy.

(please answer this question without circle jerking other mra's to get brownie points please)?

Can you show a modicum of etiquette please. Your taking advantage of the fact that this sub is one of the most lenient and you won't get automatically banned. But there's no need to be deliberately disrespectful.

[–]Solid_ferret 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

'So being a rapist is the worst possible thing you can be. Being unfairly labeled a rapist is the worst thing you can be called' Yeah, never said it wasnt an issue only saying it is a microscopic one. MRA make it out to be very common but it aint. Instead they should focus on men getting better health care especially veterans who in the US dont get treated fairly by the VA or cant afford to due to health insurance costs maybe voting for people like bernie or AOC could solve that. I said this in another MRA forum but they said they didnt want 'daddy govt' involved so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

'Your error is that false accusations are easily disproven. They arent. Even when they are disproven. Decades later, people will still remember you as that guy' Please watch the video again or read the paper he was talking about. Most dont get their names in the public due to the laws. And opinion changes once facts are shown. You saw this with HimToo and even MeToo like the people who didnt believe the accusers but once the tapes got out about Harvey Weinstein they either changed their mind or closed their mouth in shame.

'Legacy' WTF most people are celebs or royality we are just people who work at Mcdonalds or BMW. We have no legacy.

'It's silly to argue over what is worse' Well you brought it up and if i had to guess most people would not get raped but thats just a guess.

'A false accusation also leads to ptsd and suicide' yes but now where near the extent. the only thing more i can find is combat veterans who suffer more ptsd and suicide.

'Can you show a modicum of etiquette please' sorry i shouldnt have

Answer my question i gave you in the other post please.

[–]Egalitarianwhistle 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

No, it' s a ridiculous question and I don't have to answer it.

MRA make it out to be very common but it aint.

This is a common talking point. If I google #metoo the top ten articles will say the same thing. The problem is they are all making the same bad inference from Dr. Lisak's study.

According to Lisak, a minimum of 2-11 percent of rape accusations made to police are provably false. Ostensibly this rate is much higher for accusations not taken to police but rather made on social media, especially during the #Metoo movement. The mistake that most people make is to assume that all accusations no proven false are therefore true. That is not the case.

Most dont get their names in the public due to the laws

Have you been paying attention to #metoo at all?

Legacy is how you are remembered. Public shaming is easy to do, difficult to come back from. #METOO has enabled quite a few psychopaths. The reason I'm here in the MRA sub is because I came across such a psychopath leading a mob. I dared to stick up for a man falsely accused. And yes I do have evidence, and no Im not going to elaborate.

Surely we can agree that false rape accusations, however rare, are a bad thing for society? On this note, why do you think April Dawn still has supporters despite the evidence shown by Signore that their relationship was consensual? Where do you come down on Emma Sulkowicz, whom the evidence also paints as a liar? Even if they are rare, surely such instances should be condemned once the evidence is heard. And yet I still see people defending these false accusers.

[–]Solid_ferret 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

'No, it' s a ridiculous question and I don't have to answer it. The stigma is gendered, so i would rather have my daughter falsely accused and my son raped.' JESUS. I hope you never have a son. This feeds into the idea that males getting raped isn't as a bad as females when it is equal.

'Have you been paying attention to #metoo at all?' Metoo is only a small part of accusations mostly only affects celebs who are always in the media making it out to be more common. i am talking about your average joe.

'And yes I do have evidence, and no Im not going to elaborate.' lol why not since you have it?

'Signore that their relationship was consensual?' You can still rape someone in a relationship dude.

'April Dawn still has supporters despite the evidence' Their will always be crazy people like the guys who defend Elliot Rodgers and say its the girls fault for not having sex with him since he was such as 'nice guy'.

'Even if they are rare, surely such instances should be condemned once the evidence is heard. And yet I still see people defending these false accusers.' OMG they are condemned search their names up they are just not by MSM who do not represent the masses. People have stopped trusting MSM on anything. Thats like watching FOX news and thinking most republican americans want war with Iran but they dont its just the people at the top. Like ben shapiro a prominent republican got shit for his own fans for being for the iran war if it happens.

[–]Solid_ferret 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

'The mistake that most people make is to assume that all accusations no proven false are therefore true. That is not the case.' In the US at least i f a rape accusation is proven false that could mean 2 things. Either the accuser was lying or their was enough sufficient evidence to prove it happened. rape is a very hard thing to prove especially since more people are coming out whether it be Metoo or the boys who got molested and raped by priest. This weird metoo accusers get a backlash by people calling them liars or get mocked it even happened to terry crews by 50 cent and others but the boys who accused the priests didnt even with no evidence?

'zero support services'

Women had to fight for decades to get domestic abuse shelters why aren't you men doing the same. I thought you cared about men? Stop hating on feminists and help your fellow man since you care so much.

[–]Egalitarianwhistle 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's difficult to advocate for domestic abuse shelters because most cities in the USA use the Duluth model which always assumes the man is the perpetrator. Men often complain that when they call the police for domestic violence, they are often arrested.

[–]Solid_ferret 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Shelters arent run by cops thats the point. The same sort of thing happened to women in i think was the 50s where the cops would just walk away or not investigate due to oppression of the time done enforced men and the govt so they decided to open shelters separate from the govt. Men and MRA's should do the same and create their own Duluth model but for some reasons unlike women they don't do anything about it only vent online? its a shame really.

FYI in the US at least if a rape accusation is proven false that could mean 2 things. Either the accuser was lying or their wasn't enough sufficient evidence to prove if it happened.
