Dershowitz did say that this report does expose Cuomo as "a hypocrite" in light of his ''believe all women'' stance and call for a polygraph exam of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, but a politician is an elected official and people in the United States should not be fired based on mere allegations without due process.

Just as well Cuomo isn't to be judged by his own standards.

It feels like all these accusations and worse were known last year but of course then the CIA media was endorsing Cuomo as a sort of anti-Trump figure so they didn't want to make him look bad.

Nobody really believes in #MeToo or #beleiveWomen. The elites sure don't and their CIA media. But the feminists don't either. It's just a club to beat men over the head with.

Yes indeed. Trump’s a rapist you know, had a clown here a few months ago insisting on that! But nothing to see here when old Bill is accused by multiple women. Same with sleepy Joe.

Clearly the behaviour is only “unacceptable” if you don’t like the guy’s politics. I guess that’s why it’s fine for Hillary to be on the board of Walmart, whilst her cheerleaders call out for it to be attacked for the way it treats it’s employees (something I’d have thought Board members have a “slight degree” of responsibility for). Just as there’s “nothing to see here” folks re Clinton and Biden, but vague claims against Kavanagh are proof of his unfitness for high office. I’ve little doubt the attack on Kavanagh was that they feared he’d be a vote to overturn Roe v Wade. But such “principles” don’t count if the guy is considered “useful”!

Yeah, we are supposed to believe that woman who claimed Trump raise up a BOLTED DOWN airplane armrest to harass her.

And that E.Jean Carroll lady, the one who went on CNN and had a nervous breakdown on air.

I really don't like Dershowitz. I read some of his books and they badly plagiarized other sources. So I wish his point were made by someone different.

I stopped believing any accusation of sexual assault. No matter what the number of alleged victims is. Only if there is some external proof (a video, a person that I know as an independent, thinking, individual corroborating the stories, ...) I will maybe start to think there is really something.

I see the feminist point of view, however. In principle if you punish a man based only on accusations you really protect "women" from men's aggressions. Problem is, the same will happen if you exterminate all men. There is no way an ideology that is so blind to men's basic human rights can be allowed to thrive.

Except, it's not just this point. He has repeatedly gone "against the flow" in favour of principle:

  • As early as the 1990's, he expressed skepticism of publishing the name of the accused but not the accuser.
  • Here, he makes points made by few others, concerning the illegitimacy of the NY AG approach.
  • He is one of the few liberals to acknowledge the problem of false rape accusations. etc.

He didn't have to do any of this. He could have rested easy with his academic sinecure.

Men were way safer before all these women started speaking about times they were victimized. If men can't actively silence these women, there will be more men in jail than free.

The MeToo movement has done nothing but hurt men and it needs to stop.

[–]LateralThinker13 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You don't silence people, you hold them accountable for their lies. You strengthen slander and libel laws, and make truth an inviolate protection against them.

Censors are part of the problem. YOU are part of the problem.

MeToo SHOULD hurt men. Rapist men. The problem isn't women speaking out, it's (feminist) women jumping on the bandwagon and lying about it. It's (feminist) women redefining rape to include words they don't like as rape. It's (feminist) women retroactively withholding consent.

THAT is the problem. Not words, but accountability.

[–]DavidByron2 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well that and the elites and the institutions of state increasingly backing up feminist idiocy.

Just like when the elites used the Nazis in 1930s Germany. They say to themselves "this bunch are harmless - we can control them - we can use them against the Socialists". "Harmless" to the interests of the elites that is. Not the rest of us. And then the "harmless" hate movement starts getting a bit out of hand and a bunch of rich men lose their board positions to someone else because they're LGBTQ and there's a quota system now.

When the rich get fucked by feminism, that's a good thing.

[–]Angryasfk 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Seeking to “use them” is the problem. They’ve weaponised the feminists, and these people now hold increasing power. Putting them on boards and in other key positions further entrenches them, and their “quota/affirmative action” methods of getting these positions. Women who owe their privileged posts to these things are going to be pretty resistant to any move to phase them out. And they now are in real Positions of power! There is certainly an analogy with 1932/33 Germany.

You've been downvoted because you stated it badly. Allow me to attempt to rephrase:

Men's civil liberties were more secure before all these women started claiming they were victimised. If men can't adequately respond to these women's often uncorroborated and unfounded accusations, there will be more men in jail than free.
