Today I was told this: "I won't tolerate any jokes about rape, unless they're about killing rapists. But even that isn't funny." To which I replied "thanks for the misandry." my friend that read me the above quote was offended that I called it misandry. I explained: 1.) If it is widely accepted that men are the rapists (which it is) then the OP is saying jokes about killing men are acceptable. 2.) I don't think you personally interpret it that way. I think the op meant it that way. 3.) I believe this because I live in a world where I am assumed to be a rapist and abuser just because of my gender.
Have I overreacted our is this comment offensive to anyone else for the same reasons?
