I would've left the original comment alone. It didn't say 'man = rapist' or that 'rapist = man.' It explicitly said jokes about killing rapists weren't funny, only that the poster would tolerate them.

'Tolerate' can mean a lot of things. It can mean 'I disapprove of this but lack the resources (eg cognitive, emotional, intellectual, etc) to do anything about it.' It can mean 'I oppose this, but am not going to spend my time and energy sticking up for a group of people that has really, really hurt me.'

Yes, both society and feminism talk about rapists as though they are exclusively male. But did the person who posted that comment do so? Or identify/ally themselves with a group or person that did so? If not, you can't hold him/her responsible for messages s/he didn't have a part in sending. As a result, your first point sort of puts words in the OPs mouth.

You did over react and should have phrased it differently.

Something like. "I wouldn't want to live in her world. Feminists have a really low bar for calling someone a rapist a low bar for killing suspects."

It sounds like you just read a lot into his comment. I'm not sure how "kill rapists" should be construed as misandry, especially when most of us argue that there are a large amount of female rapists. It's an idiotic comment, but not one that's misandrist.

As an MRA, I'm kind of offended you called it misandry, because it sounds like you think rapists=men. Even if all rapists were men, this still wouldn't be misandry, because rapists are horrible people and it's advocating jokes making fun of killing rapists (i.e. horrible people), not all men.
