From the crosspost though, I noticed people seem to completely misunderstand how common rape even is, which is to say it isn't common at all. Not to mention discounting all the instances that women do it, which is much more common than people think, also.

This is so oversimplified. Both of those statements are completely different from "teach men not to rape".

teach Muslims not to blow things up

The vast majority of Muslims (And everyone else) are taught not to blow things up. It's not as direct as: "hey, don't blow things up" obviously.

Think about it, did you need to be taught not to blow things up? No, obviously not.

When you say " Muslims need to be taught to not blow things up" you're implying that being Muslim gives a bias to extremism. when it doesn't, being surrounded by an extremist environment makes people into extremists.

Extremists need to be taught to not blow things up.

teach Black people not to steal.

In the vast majority of cases people don't steal because they haven't been taught it's wrong, they steal to survive.

The Black community experiences a disproportionate amount of poverty, hence why crimes like theft will be higher amongst that demographic.

They have been "taught not to steal", to say that black people need to be "taught not to steal" is an insult to their intelligence and racist.

teach men not to rape.

In the majority of cases rape occurs because one (or often both) parties do not properly understand consent.

In this case the issue (rape) occurs because of a lack of understanding, and this lack of knowledge on consent is prevalent in our society.

Therefore the statement "teach men of to rape" actually has merit.
