i would say take her to court and demand joint custody rights, stating how much you pay. Also state that you demanded Zero child support previously when the child was in your care more often. i have no experience in this, its just my opinion.

That's what you call extortion. Find out the law in your state/country, obtain hard evidence (recording, written threat, etc) and sue for custody. Do not ever pay anything to her without being required to by court order.

I have already filed all the court papers. I will be asking for joint custody. Court date is in 2 weeks. Lawyers cost way too much. I don't make a lot of money.

If there's no court order to pay $ buy the kids food and essentials don't give her the $. What she is doing is blackmail and it sounds illegal. I'd get on the offensive ASAP with good legal advice and set some custody rules between you both. I like seeing couples work to get back together. Get legal advice and take her to court if you cant work to get back together for your kids. Unfortunately the law may turn a blind eye on you because fathers have less rights right now but keep fighting.

Get a child custody lawyer.

The National Parents Organization may be able to help you get in touch with a good one.

Talk to this lawyer before calling the police. Talking to a lawyer does not necessarily mean filing suit (which could save you money, if that's a concern). Just having a lawyer can be enough to intimidate someone out of wrongful action.

Regardless, a lawyer can advise you on the best course of action.

Sounds like your doing the right thing OP, best of luck to you.

You should get some legal advice, but your best bet is self representing otherwise the lawyers will take all your money and leave you broke before it is ever resolved.
